Everyone Connects at Bukit Bintang!

If you’re a fellow Malaysian and you’re not being in your own world all by yourself living in some deserted location where nobody knows, i’m pretty sure you’ve been hearing a specific song with the song title “Through My Windows” where it was played almost everywhere every now and then since last month.

Most of you might already know about it, it’s a whole big campaign by TM with the main objective of connecting people, basically everyone!

In support of our current Prime Minister’s vision, 1Malaysia perhaps.

Anyway, last Saturday was the big day. The day all the connections surfaced where people gathered in front of Sungei Wang at Bukit Bintang. With the large stage all set up there along with a gigantic screen for the public with local celebrities act as well as the big main thing, to give a chance for local indie bands to shine on stage!

The main event starts from 3pm and ends at 8pm where i reached like around 5pm. Like in the middle of the whole big thing. It was insane i tell you, upon reaching the place, i saw the large amount of crowds there immediately.

Would actually think of some illegal gathering or whatsoever if i didn’t know about the event before reaching the place because the people there were so hyped up!! They were under the sky with raindrops coming down and all they did was just having fun!

Not ordinary fun but Fun FUN!! I see people dancing, jumping around with a big smile on their face being all jolly happy.

Then i see people singing out their hearts ignoring the others around them, with their hand gestures to further express themselves!!

It’s like, how often do you see a ball such big in the air? With that much of people on a street that is normally filled with cars honking at each other bumper to bumper.

All of a sudden, the intensity that that area usually have, with all the invisible pressure on people living their lives in the city seems to go off just like that. With all the laughter and joy despite the heavy rain, the youths in KL are having fun in their own way and its an interesting scene to be in.

Of course, thanks to some of the local celebrities that were there that day, they were the reason most of the youths came out from their homes to connect with each other at Bukit Bintang.

and Gosh, now only i know that local celebrities actually have quite a lot of hardcore fans around following after them, seeking for signature and a picture together. Who says that the youths in our country are so obsessed of western culture? As far as i know, I was seeing the other way round!

Furthermore, you don’t want to mess with these indie bands. Some of the bands have lots of true loyal fans where i heard screaming and cheering when some certain band went up on stage to perform. They have potential to shine.

Just look at the people present there. Amazing!

It was an interesting event for me at the end of the day. I would say that TM did quite a good job in connecting the youths together throughout this whole campaign altogether providing a specific outlet for them to express themselves which is through singing.

She converses in Tamil and he talks in Malay where I might be speaking Chinese right here, but with the international language Music, Everyone is Connected just like that.

Karaoke one day okay?

Don’t Be Shy, Go ahead & Connect!

After viewing some of the videos shown there as well as seeing some of the pictures taken along the days in the events itself, i can see that most of the people there did enjoyed themselves somehow.

Some were there alone i assume just to join in the buzz having fun getting the hang of it where some were with some fellow friends displaying what they’ve got with their voice showing off singing the song “Through My Window” being recorded on video.

and why did i said they had fun?

Come on, you can’t fake these smiles right? Can’t you see that its just so sweet!

and for your information, tomorrow is the last day that they will be having this Karaoke Sing Along roadshow where it will be held at Lot10, Kuala Lumpur itself. So its your chance to show what you’ve got getting your video uploaded on a website that have more than 10k fans!

Through My Window where Everyone Connects?

It was a few days ago that i’ve posted about a song that i’ve heard but have no idea on what’s the song title and singer. Thanks to some of the readers, i managed to get a related link as well as the song name!

Apparently, people were twittering about it all over with such tags #everyoneconnects #throughmywindow #bannerconcert and a buzz was created leading everyone to http://everyoneconnects.net/. Even HITZ Fm DJ Rudy was twittering about it as well.

When i first enter into the site i had not much idea on what is it all about. I just get the title of the song which is Through My Window.

Reading the comments all over the internet saying that most probably Bunkface is behind this and they might be coming out with something big. With doubts in my head i stalked that website for a few days only to find out that it’s a project that’s whole lot more bigger than i’ve expected.

Never did i imagine that this whole thing was powered by TM!

It was quite a successful buzz they’ve made over the internet where there were already 18k visitors on the site already! Then only i realize that TV and Radios are playing the song more frequently with a website link to refer to.

Till now everyoneconnects.net already exposed quite alot of stuffs on the site itself already. Making full use of the social networking sites available, they even created accounts on Friendster, Facebook and Twitter!

Me being me myself who is curious all the time would like to know what’s coming up next in the couple of days, thus i’ve added them both on Facebook & Twitter. As for friendster, No because erm, i kinda forgotten my password to my friendster account. =X

So yea, do follow/add the accounts if you are actively involved in any of the networking sites as I’ve heard that they are coming up with some fun auditions!

Cheers!

Argh What’s That Song!

It’s another new week and i had Monday Blues again.

I was on my way to work taking public transport and all i could do was just having my headphones connected to my phone listening to radio stations keeping myself all positive on the week ahead.

As usual, the songs played on air was pretty over-broadcasted for me already, played over and over again for God Knows how many times for hours, days, weeks and sometimes MONTHS.

I changed stations quite frequently then till I heard some tune that I was unfamiliar with. I was at Titiwangsa bus hub at that time. It was pretty strange because the songs played should be some mainstream music and not this one song. Listening to the fast tempo song that made me all hype up kind of made my day immediately because it was quite an energetic one. I purposely stayed long enough on that specific radio station to hear which band or who was behind that song but failed to get that piece of information.

I thought to myself that maybe its some new song but hey normally DJs will mentioned the name and band/singer of the song if it’s a new song, they will surely fully promote it with all the buzz and all but they didn’t. It’s quite impossible that it’s an old song as well because I frequent this radio station everyday!

So, the first thing I did when I turned on the computer in office was typing www.google.com on Firefox in an attempt to search for the song and perhaps the whole album that consist of that song.
Having just remembered a few words such as “Not Alone”, “You and Me” and “Window” didn’t really contribute to the search and I went on asking some friends who are familiar with the local music scene as it might be some local upcoming indie band that was behind that song.

Fellow friends have no idea as well with that bit of information from me and I have to like get myself stuck on the same radio station trying to catch the same song again but they didn’t play it again. Maybe they did, when I was in the toilet that is.

Seriously I know that there’s not much information on this song alone but if any of you out there know what song is that, can you please tell me what song is that?
I suspect that it’s a band with a male lead singer including drummer, bassist and I think a guitarist as well. Their music is like, like Boys Like Girls kind of music.

Anyone?
