MDG – AmBank NexG Prepaid Mastercard

*this post is meant for ALL MDG Blog Contest consolation prize winners.

Previously, i have blog about winning the consolation prize for the MDG blog contest.

i went to Nuffnang and collected the prize a few weeks ago and AMBank peeps activated the card just days ago.

Anyway thats not the main point, the main point is AMBank will be charging you RM3 every month after they activate the card. I figured out that i won’t be using the card most of the time so i cancelled the card service and got the money back – RM97.

You’ll be charge RM3 per month regardless of you are going to use the card or not, so if you think of withdrawing all the money out and not cancelling the service. Don’t do so.

If you’re not using the card then just go to the nearest AmBank branch bringing your Identification card with you to cancel the card and get back the money.

New Shoes By Nike for The Rat Year 2008

came across this post in a forum about the shoes by Nike produced for the Rat Year

SBTG x MR..SK: THE ROYALE RAT PACK SBTG 08

quoted from here

Chinese New Year or the Lunar New Year, is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th. In 2008, the first day of the Chinese calendar is on February 7th, while in the 12-year cycle of the animal zodiac, it is the Year of the Rat, the 1st place of animal zodiac.

To celebrate this important festival, SBTG is proud to teamed up with MR..SK (Samplekickz) to release the first animal zodiac pack, The Royale Rat Pack SBTG 08, on KIX-FILES exclusively.

In Chinese, the number 8 is considered lucky (for its homophone for “wealth”), as a result. The Rat Pack comes with 18 pairs in total (for its homophone for “must be wealthy”), 9 pairs for each model. The color red and gold are liberally used in all decorations. Red envelopes or Red packets are passed out during the Chinese New Year’s celebrations, from married couples or the elderly to unmarried juniors with the meaning of good fortune. The concept is applied on the Rat Dunk.

In order to reinforce the SBTG military style, desert camo and rat skeleton are also featured on both dunks. In which the rat skeleton is a brand new design of SBTG himself for the project. A silent imply of the dark side. The tunnel rats were American, Australian and New Zealander soldiers who performed underground search and destroy missions during the Vietnam War. In the course of the war, the Viet Cong created very extensive underground complexes. Whenever troops would uncover a tunnel, Tunnel Rats were sent in to kill any buried enemy and to plant explosives to destroy the tunnels. Though its war related but they are considered victorious troops in the Vietnam war.
