Tali Tenang – Unite and Go!

Tali Tenang. A project that was planned just within 10 days before the actual date. Pretty awesome. and If you have no clue about it, read about it here.

So, well. What could i say from the whole event that day?

The smiles, the constant interaction, the cooperation amongst the people, they way how we see things, positively. It was a walk that saw 250 Malaysians participating in, a walk that brings out a strong message in the unity of fellow Malaysians that we still have faith in our country, one place that we loved a lot.

Despite the various drama that happened since the start of this year, the various types of different voices everywhere, the one voice that we had through out the walk was we are unite together as Malaysians, WE & US, not ME & YOU.

Perhaps we were brought up in different environments and influences…

Perhaps we still have a long way walking together…

But i believe that somehow, someway, there’s a string that ties us together, a string that connects every single Malaysians, an invisible one.

The invisible string that was, and will be the main factor that will drive Malaysia towards a better future.

Yes maybe you are disappointed, i am disappointed, in our own ways with our own stories and such, but hey, don’t give up just yet!

Go MALAYSIA! *smile*

RA+D Launch. I Heart KL Shirt at RM25

On the 31st of August 2009, Ra+D was officially launched. It was a project with the collaboration of Random Alphabets & Delicious to promote a new batch of I <3 KL shirts supporting SPCA Selangor & Federal Territory Amateur Gymnastics Association.

The official launch that was held in one of the Delicious outlet in Kuala Lumpur were graced by many local celebrities. People like Elaine Daly, Amber Chia, Sarah Lian, Carmen Soo and etc were there to show their support.

Being a Project with a positive message, the dress code of the day was white. It was some kind of unity to me with everyone showing up in white on Merdeka day itself. Hours just after the Merdeka Train Party.

Saw some familiar faces over there, Rames, Su Ann, Shaz, Tock & etc was the few ones that i bumped into.

Elaine Daly was the emcee of the event with Zain the mastermind of the whole project giving a short speech at the opening.

The event was well organized with good food from Delicious as well as a few interesting performances displayed through out the event.

But the important thing of the whole project is to urge the public to support Ra+D. Buy the shirts for a good cause, its quite a nice shirt and of course, you could buy more than 1 of these shirts as a gift for your friends and family. =D

With each purchase, Delicious pledges to contribute RM5 to SPCA Selangor or Federal Territory Amateur Gymnastics Association base on which shirt you buy. So do support it

Shirts are available starting from 10th of September 2009 at all Delicious outlets. Alternatively, you can go to RandomAlphabets to make an order online.

I’m already loving this shirt i bought on that day itself, even Carmen Soo love the shirt.

So, what are you waiting for?
*well at least if you don’t feel like buying, you could spread the word around. =) Cheers

200 People, 7 Monorail Trains. MERDEKA TRAIN PARTY!

Its all about Malaysia. 3 main parties, one wicked idea and here comes a colorful day filled with sweats plus lots of walking. It was the Merdeka Train Party that i was talking about. On the 31st of August 2009, a bunch of 200+ future leaders of Malaysia gathered together and did something to show the world or at least the whole Malaysia that we can still be united achieving a same objective.

The plan was to fully or more specifically partially decorate the interior of a train with the props provided to celebrate this very significant date for us Malaysians. The independence day that is.

Though the exact meeting time is at 2pm, the usual 30 minutes late magic that happens all the time was clearly not working on the day itself. Instead, people started gathering since 1.30pm.

Soon enough, there were short briefing sessions where everyone gets a set of instructions. 7 teams in total where ZaidHD & NikiCheong leading the crews with 14 leaders leading every other people in the teams.

For me myself i was leading team 2 with Diyana, someone i knew back in the trip to Manchester early this year. All of the teams were given instructions to do some serious business in 7 monorail trains. Each trains with 2 compartments. One team One Train.

In no time, we transformed the interior of the train from this…

to this!!!

It was at Titiwangsa Monorail station that the train was fully decorated into what you won’t normally see daily. Though there were lots of Malaysians who got lost having no idea on what are they getting in the whole journey, many of them did smile, cheered and even sang with us!

We shouted Merdeka from time to time and sang Happy Birthday Song a couple of times. It was crazy but it is all these little things that unite us all together.

There were lots of people saying that there’s no more hope for Malaysia, pointing at the various negative headlines reported every single day by the mainstream media but from what i see, there’s still people having lots of faith in the future of Malaysia keeping the words Malaysia Boleh by their mouths.

Through out the different stops where passengers getting in and out the train, i observed that there were the elder ones who smiled happily looking at the decorations, some even playing with the balloons and such singing along with us shouting Merdeka. Young ones were clapping delightfully.

Quite an encouraging scene i must say being able to participate in this project. At least i am still on a more brighter side thinking more positively at the end of the day.

After everything, everyone gathered at Tun Sambanthan station to get a big group picture.

Team 2

Part of The Crew

Seriously, it doesn’t matters if you’re Blue or White, Optimus Prime or Startroopers

the most important thing is you and me, we’ve got a role to play and by walking down the road together, i believe there’s still a bright future for us.
Good job to Random Alphabets.
Happy 52nd Birthday, Malaysia!

Read While Waiting

Living in Kuala Lumpur, i’m one of the many Malaysians who takes public transport each day. A daily routine it is. Waiting by the road, under the sun, looking leftrightupdown, listening to the noise of passing by vehicles.

Waiting to reach a destination in a train/bus, with/without the aircond, looking at the people around you, overheard some conversations, thinks that the person beside you is smelly, listening to MP3 and etc.

Sometimes, the time spent in such a way seems endless, conversations around become blur, you see everything moving slowly, time is, everyone seems to vanish in front of you. Your brain goes blank wandering elsewhere.

These are the time wasted. Wasted doing nothing at all. Being an unproductive waste at that specific moment of time.

Have you ever thought of doing something better while waiting than having those unproductive time?

Something better like reading?

Maybe some newspaper

or perhaps a magazine/book??

Gone are the times where people use to read REAL much. Holding a book and concentrate on the reading. Even if its a comic book, even if its an e-book, its on an electronic device. Its still reading. That’s what many people seldom do already. Wasting their time while waiting that is.

I still find it interesting – holding on to a book, reading the contents the whole day when i’m free especially when i’m in the midst of waiting for something, some event, some person, or some other stuffs.

and i’m doing it each day. =)

This is what we should do in our generation that don’t fancy reading, we should promote reading more.

and this Saturday 23th of August, there’ll be a project by RandomAlphabets.com. The same group which organize the KL FREEZE 4 months back.

The Read While Waiting Project

Saturday 23th August 2008 3pm
KL Sentral with a book, mag or newspaper

The area infront of
1. KFC
2. Dunkin Donuts
3. KTM Komuter entrance

Objective :
- To see more people reading (any form of literature) whenever they wait
- To make people more conscious of whenever they are about to go somewhere and know that some waiting will be involved, then bring something to read

To have a better understanding on this movement/project. View the videos below. There are 3 versions made. I find this quite a meaningful project and i’m definitely going to support it. I’m already doing it each day reading books while i’m waiting, so i do hope that you support this project too. Thanks. =)
