It was a good night and i haven had such a night in a long time already! Attending event meeting friends around and just exchanging words, it’s all awesome!!

Just came back from the launch of DIMENSIONS, a joint collaboration between Astro and Maxis.

It was awesome seeing them!!

and *ahem*, there’s some cocky people/blogger over there whom had his nose stick up damn high and i knew that he saw me, i waved but he acted as if he didn’t see me. Oh well. Fine.

There were 2 Iphone 3GS to win during the event and both the 2 lucky person who went home happily with the phone is a blogger. Xiang and Dylan. With the lucky numbers 76 and 43 Gah!

Well, i hate the both of you!! Lol.

The night didn’t ended for me there and then. I headed to Sky Bar at Traders Hotel after that along with a few bloggers mentioned above, Chris, Jessica and Ren for Horeca ^ event. Something which i will talk about soon as well xD.

It was quite a fun time hanging out at Sky Bar with oh did i mention about the free flow of cocktails there? It was totally awesome!!!

Well, the good news is there’ll be more!! Stay tuned for more venues, time and dates on more free flow of cocktails coming up soon!! Hehe.

The night was good. Awesomely good! Thanks to Esther for the invitation on the earlier event and thanks to Suji for the one after that! I’m happy thanks to the both of you!

Well, Isn’t it beautiful?

Oh and the lucky draw number i was holding is 73, just 3 numbers away from Xiang’s number, 76. GAH!! The ones who was holding 74 and 75 will feel it more than me hahahaha!!

Anyways, still, Congrats!

Project You:nique

It was on the 10th of December 2008. The night where i met a few top bloggers in Malaysia. A pretty excited night where me, the stupid blogger of this lousy little blog meeting with some really WOW people of the blogosphere. A big thanks to Nuffnang and Alliance Bank for this very session i must say. xD

We were at this place, hQnine @ TTDI Plaza.

reached there and realized that i was like the very last person, bad me…….. =(

and i spotted shy shy simon talking with Hanis!! Ahhhhhh Interesting! =D

Anyway, soon the session started and everyone was seated…

where there’s a short introduction about the main topic of the night – You:nique.

Ken and Edmund, the 2 interesting speakers shared about some really interesting stuffs about the whole project and it was the very first of its kind if i’m not mistaken.

In the past, many people have been wondering about this very similar concept but nobody have do it before here in Malaysia. At least none that i know of.

Some graphical reference were displayed for a better understanding and its pretty interesting i would say. The whole presentation did attracted our attention. =D

other than giving attention, a few bloggers did voice out on the project itself and inquired here and there about it.

one of them is fellow pam pam. =D

the session was pretty short and simple but its a rather informative session

just look at the notes pam wrote down….. crazy women… lolx

Anyway, after the presentation, we were having our sweet time chit-chatting and of course, within expectation, these came along…

camwhoring moments…

and MASS CAMWHORING SESSIONS. *shakes head*

Thanks to the parties involved, we were provided with food!!! Awesome!! =D

So, some food and a few drinks…

and good fellowship moments…

Everyone had a good time there…. hehehehehe right Huai Bin?? =D

Oh and of course, for small time bloggers like me, i grabbed the chance to take pictures la, wait what!! xD

Cindy!

Ringo!!

Nicholas, Huai Bin and me!!

Ginny =D

and Hanis (please ignore my stupid face in this picture above… )

So, and again, thanks to Nuffnang and Alliance Bank, that was the night….

the night of an introduction to an interesting project.

Towards a Green Malaysia

A continuation from a previous post here

this is the day where Canon organized this tree planting event a few days ago.

Alright so where was i, hmmm

i was talking about the thumb print thingy… lolx…

before i continue in my story telling, these are the emcee for the event. Refer picture above. =)

okays so after the speeches by the VIPs, they proceeded in officiating the event by setting the examples themselves

Some of the pictures where they were planting the trees.

After that, there was this short little Q&A/Interview session

and at the same time, the participants were divided into groups and they were sent to different areas to proceed with the tree planting process.

This just reminds me of Hari Sukan, Hari Gotong Royong and etc which i usually ponteng when i was still in my sec school days. HaHa.

this is one of the very few moments/times that you can be proud being a Malaysian, watching people doing something meaningful with mestandingbesidedoingnothingYAWN. xD

quite a positive act. Awesome. Not to me but to them of course.

Some other ongoing stuffs on that day. =D

so after the tree planting process, some lucky participants got to win a digital camera themselves during a short quiz session.

after that, there’s this performance by this local artist, Zainal Abidin. No Comments =)

This is a meaningful event and movement organized by Canon in collaborative with many parties itself. They actually set a target that 2500 trees to be planted and the actual fact is there were already 5000 trees planted since the launching of this Canon Goes Green movement which started two and a half months ago. Pretty encouraging huh? That’s quite a successful campaign/movement if you ask me.

Shall not talk more la, will bored you later.

so yea, Towards a Green Malaysia Yea!!

cheers.

ShuJian, Nigel, Kelli, HsuJen, David and me.

you can go to their blogs to read about this event as well. Hehe a bunch of crazy peeps in green. xD

I’m Feeling Green!!!

Its pretty rare when you hear people say i’m feeling green. Blue,Yes but not Green. This is not a day where like i was beaten up with multiple “black green” spots all over my body.

This is a day where part of the community in the Klang Valley will do something good for mother nature.

This is a day where Canon Goes Green.

The Tree Planting Event at Padang Kota Damansara
19.10.2008
A collaboration of :-
Global Environment Centre (GEC)
Majis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya(MBPJ)
Selangor Forest Department
Canon Marketing Malaysia

Waking up at 7am is really such a pain and we reached the venue around 7.30am. Awesome right? and the most awesome thing was THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THERE ALREADY. Speaking about “semangat” Malaysians. Amazing!

Oh about the “we“, its me, ShuJian, Nigel, Kelli, David & HsuJen. xD

Environment Awareness.

We proceed to the registration point to get our tags. =P

and gosh i’m so happy that breakfast were provided with Milo/Nescafe some more!!
That was just the thing for me at THAT moment. =)

Soon the VIPs arrived, am lazy to state them out with all those Datuk, Dr, Director, YB Zzzz.

A few speeches were made. Just like in any other event la. Yadda yadda yadda. =)

Apparently, they were expecting 500 participants but it turned out that there were more than 700 crazy people who don’t need to sleep people there attending this very event. and again i must say, AMAZING.

While the VIPs were giving their speeches, there was some ongoing activities already.

Children won’t understand the speeches right?? So they went for some coloring and painting/tattoo session. The activities was available throughout the whole event.

Another thing is this, people marked their attendance and support towards this movement by putting their thumb print on the board. Interesting.

This is the area for people to plant trees, the whole place were divided into 14 areas. Note that the yellow box below is the stage. O.O IT IS BIG.

I’m Feeling Green Already =)

Alright, enough of green pictures for now, more coming soon. Here’s a picture of someone i met in the event. Nixon, someone whom i knew when i was working part time with Canon last time. =D

The Launching of Project H-Factor by Hannah Tan

A contemporary community service campaign. Initiated by Hannah Tan.

Codename – H Factor Nationwide Creative Youth Workshop.

Individuals : Harith Iskandar, Hans Isaac, Serena C, Pietro Felix, Reymee, Fellest Yan and Joey Khor.

and just last week – 28th September 2008, it was the media launch of the project in Werner’s @ Changkat Bukit Bintang.

Not all of the involved well known personalities were there but there are enough to make the media launch a successful one.

Its really not easy to gather these bunch of people together to attend the same thing. Do not tell me stuffs like awards or dinner.

A few interviews was conducted there.

Fellest Yan, Me

this dude is one of the best hip hop dancer i know around in Malaysia. An ex-Chief Instructor of the past reigning Hip Hop group in Malaysia - Urban Groove. Met him in a few occasion already, one of the is the G4G Hip Hop Dance Conference last year. That was when he’s still one of the key person in Urban Groove. That was the past then and presently, he already left the group with some other instructor.

Maybe i shall blog about that sometime in the future, some insider information on the breakout that happen among Urban Groove’s instructor.

a move that was requested by some photographers there. Not ME!!

and soon they even requested a group photo to be taken.

Group Picture.

Soon, the project was launch officially with a short introduction by Hannah Tan.

A video played.

and Hannah introducing the other individuals.

I left in the midst of the event to attend another one then. Anyhow, i heard from Mike and Leonard that the event was a successful one which ended with them heading for supper talking about some really interesting topics. Lolx

So actually, what is this project all about?

The campaign aims to cultivate a sense of positivity among the Malaysian pop-culture community in an era where negative elements like drugs, alcoholism, free-sex and gangsterism are considered cool. Its inaugural nationwide creative youth workshop seeks to promote the positive development of creative talent among Malaysia’s pop-culture society who are predominantly the youth.
-Media Release

this whole project will actually be a start of an annual creative youth development affair which aims to impact the local industry for the better where different workshops will be conducted by the various personalities to serve the public, especially youths in order for them to learn all the so called “cool” stuffs in a positive way at the same time developing their field of creativity.

Individuals being experts in their field :

Comedy & Theatre : Harith Iskandar
Film & Acting : Hans Isaac
Radio : Serena C & Pietro Felix
Music : Reymee
TV Hosting : Hannah Tan
Dance : Fellest Yan
Motion Graphics & Animation : Joey Khor
Mentalist & Magician : David Lai

Workshops will be held in 4 major cities in Malaysia
Penang - 12th October
Johor Bahru – 19th October
Kota Kinabalu - 26th October
Kuala Lumpur - 2nd November

*the organizing team are in need of volunteers with computer and technical knowledge to help out at each of the various venues. Interested individuals can email their details to catchme@hannahtan.com or contact the Campaign Event Manager, Jessica Choong at +6019-3561111

My personal say on this project, it is a project that was initiated with good intentions, with the likes of those personalities, i would give it a try if i’m free. Too bad i’m going to resume back to my busy college life next week.

Read While Waiting

Living in Kuala Lumpur, i’m one of the many Malaysians who takes public transport each day. A daily routine it is. Waiting by the road, under the sun, looking leftrightupdown, listening to the noise of passing by vehicles.

Waiting to reach a destination in a train/bus, with/without the aircond, looking at the people around you, overheard some conversations, thinks that the person beside you is smelly, listening to MP3 and etc.

Sometimes, the time spent in such a way seems endless, conversations around become blur, you see everything moving slowly, time is, everyone seems to vanish in front of you. Your brain goes blank wandering elsewhere.

These are the time wasted. Wasted doing nothing at all. Being an unproductive waste at that specific moment of time.

Have you ever thought of doing something better while waiting than having those unproductive time?

Something better like reading?

Maybe some newspaper

or perhaps a magazine/book??

Gone are the times where people use to read REAL much. Holding a book and concentrate on the reading. Even if its a comic book, even if its an e-book, its on an electronic device. Its still reading. That’s what many people seldom do already. Wasting their time while waiting that is.

I still find it interesting – holding on to a book, reading the contents the whole day when i’m free especially when i’m in the midst of waiting for something, some event, some person, or some other stuffs.

and i’m doing it each day. =)

This is what we should do in our generation that don’t fancy reading, we should promote reading more.

and this Saturday 23th of August, there’ll be a project by RandomAlphabets.com. The same group which organize the KL FREEZE 4 months back.

The Read While Waiting Project

Saturday 23th August 2008 3pm
KL Sentral with a book, mag or newspaper

The area infront of
1. KFC
2. Dunkin Donuts
3. KTM Komuter entrance

Objective :
- To see more people reading (any form of literature) whenever they wait
- To make people more conscious of whenever they are about to go somewhere and know that some waiting will be involved, then bring something to read

To have a better understanding on this movement/project. View the videos below. There are 3 versions made. I find this quite a meaningful project and i’m definitely going to support it. I’m already doing it each day reading books while i’m waiting, so i do hope that you support this project too. Thanks. =)

Version 1 – Joyce Wong @ Kinky Blue Fairy, Farish Noor, Sharon Bakar, Emmett Butterfingers, Prem & Jules & Fahmi Fadzil

Version 2 – Su Ann Lim @ Pink Pau, Prem & Jules, Sazzy Falak, Sharifah Aleysha & Aryana, Jazeman Jaafar & Ida Nerina

Version 3 – Farihin Abdul Fattah, Chef Ismail, Ida Nerina, Sazzy Falak, Sharifah Aleysha & Aryana, Emmett Butterfingers & Shaz Mukhtar

I’m currently reading this book above. Check it out here.

Do Visit RandomAlphabets for more information on the project! See You this Sat.

PC Fair & Wimax

Just last week, there’s this happening event in the heart of KL that drove everyone crazy attending the event every year.

If you ask me, i would say that its pretty crazy. Everyone must have gone nuts.

Just look at the amount of idiots there(including me).

Gosh… you should even see the amount of humans sqeezing down there in the LRT train station, queue-ing up to buy a ticket. I was laughing HAHAHA, NOOBS… They should buy a 2 way ticket or just get a TouchNGo card bah…. O.O Really kesian man.

Anyway, when i was walking towards the hall, i notice something. Everyone, i mean almost everyone was holding a bag. Most in purple color.
*yes i went there too, i’m an idiot, flame me!

The bag was what i’m looking forward to in this specific PC fair. WiMAX.

Approached the hall where the WiMAX booth is and WHOA… the booth is quite big. With MANY people there around the booth, and the promoters were working really harding blabing about the new broadband service in town with MANY people paying attention..

I went up and try the service on one of the presetted laptop there and ha! i would say that the speed is up to my expectation, it wasnt as bad as i thought. =)

Maybe thats because of the NOT-SO-MUCH users using WiMAX at the area factor, but yes i’ve a pretty positive-mind on this new broadband service.

belum try belum tau, sudah try hari-hari mau…. OK THAT WAS A RANDOM ONE!!

Anyway, many of them were signing up for the free trial of WiMAX service. *shakes head* Malaysians with their i want free stuffs mindset.

OKAY FINE, MY AREA IS NOT IN THEIR COVERAGE SO I DID NOT SIGN UP!!

i am interested and i do want to sign up as well, but then just a few area have the service for now and the place i’m staying in is not in the list. =(

So, yea, anyone did subscribe and try their service already?? Mind telling me is their service good and the speed is up to expectation in your area?? If so, please please please tell me here….

=(
