袁咏琳大马音乐签唱会 Cindy Yen Music Showcase Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Yesterday was the music showcase of Cindy Yen 袁咏琳 on her debut album which was held at Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
Cindy Yen was born on the 14th of November 1986 in Houston, Texas. She began learning piano at the age of 5 and violin at the age of 10. When she was 12, her parents divorced, and since then she was brought up by her mother. After graduating with a double major in Music & Journalism, she returned to Taiwan. In 2009, she also won Miss Chinatown USA pageant 2009.
She is now JVR Music’s new singer-songwriter.
Cindy composed & sung the theme song “Do you see me” in a recent Far EasTone advertisement and was seen as the next promising newcomer after Joanna Wang & Alisa Gao.
On the 30th of October 2009, Cindy released her self-titled debut album ‘Cindy Yen’. The title track was her duet with superstar Jay Chou – ‘Sand Painting’ which was composed & produced by her, while the lyrics were written by Vincent Fang.
Her debut album is mainly built upon R&B, spiced with popular elements such as rock, metal and electronics. Cindy composed all 10 melodies, with some help with the lyrics from Vincent Fang & Nan Quan Mama’s Lara. Her album includes not only her R&B, pop & classical roots, but also other genres such as pop rock, hard metal & even Latin dance beat, which proves her versatility in different music styles, while her piano ballads also demonstrate her solid vocals.
Cindy is beyond dispute a newcomer with firm music talent & her arrival in the music industry has already created a huge stir!

Upon appearing up on stage, Cindy Yen 袁咏琳 greeted the Malaysian fans “Apa Khabar” with immediate response from the crowd shouting Cindy!! Being largely reported in the Chinese entertainment world as the next J-Girl of Jay Chou 周杰伦, Cindy said that working on the song Painting Sands 画沙 with Jay is some experience that is rare despite all the rumors, she only treated Jay as her brother.
After a brief conversation with the emcee, Cindy Yen 袁咏琳 performed the song she sang with Jay Chou 周杰伦 with the crowd joining in to sing. Do watch the video above to see her live performance at the music showcase!!
Cindy Yen 袁咏琳 performed a few other songs such as 很旅行的爱情, 雨後天空 and etc which is included in her debut album. Though one of the song she performed talks about her views on her sad relationship with her ex, she had this sweet voice + a big bright smile on her face throughout the whole session.
2 lucky fans got to get on stage to sing with Cindy Yen 袁咏琳 herself and got themselves a special gift from Sony Music Malaysia.
and well, what happen after her performances was the autograph session. She’s just so pretty and attractive that i’ll save my words and just let you see more pictures alright!?
Well, i’ve always been keeping an eye on the Taiwan Entertainment Industry myself and love the music produced there and though the competition are tough over there, i do appreciate some of the singers working hard on their music.
From what Cindy Yen 袁咏琳 said during the earlier press conference, that she’s already working on her 2nd upcoming album, i would wait and love to see what she have installed for the music fans!!
Definitely love her smile!!!

If you don’t know about it yet, May’n is coming to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the next month of the 7th of March 2010. Definitely a good news for the massive anime/J-Pop crowd in Malaysia then!

If you’ve watched the Macross Frontier anime, you’ll definitely hear the song in the video above and yes the singer herself is going to have a concert here in KL. The last time she was around was when she had a concert in the neighbor country Singapore back in 2008 and it attracted a lot of fans!

American Idol Season 8 Winner – Kris Allen Performing Live at The Gardens, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Allen was born from Jacksonville, Arkansas, to Kimberly (née Wood) and Neil Allen. He is the elder of two sons; his younger brother, Daniel, is a college cheer-leading coach. Allen is a Christian and served as assistant music director at the non-denominational New Life Church in both Conway, Arkansas, and Little Rock, Arkansas. Allen has participated in missionary work around the world, including in Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand.

So, it was Kris Allen’s live in Kuala Lumpur Music Showcase just 2 nights ago at The Gardens Midvalley where Kris Allen rocked the house with 800 music fans shouting and screaming throughout the night!
An expected delay at the start of the showcase where the emcees were there to hype up the crowd with returning screaming for Kris Allen proves that the fan base here in Malaysia are really really crazy about him.

Kris Allen came out on stage that night and responded to the fans with an impressive display of his vocal talent that got him the winning title of American Idol Season 8. I consider myself lucky to be among the first few row right in front of him where i really enjoyed the performance.
Not even ONE bit of disappointment!! =)
and i must say that the band behind was really good, they deserve as much credits as Kris Allen that night where if not because of them, the music won’t be that good where i won”t be able to totally enjoy the show .
It was the first time an American Idol winner performed live in Malaysia and i’m more than glad to be part of it and of course, i would love to see more of such awesome performance be it by international artists or local ones!
With that, i insist that you watch the video below with Kris Allen performing Come Together, the video have hit 1.5k hits so far where some of the fans loved it to max, you’ll love it too!

Back from Kris Allen Showcase Live in Kuala Lumpur!

Just came back from Kris Allen’s showcase live in Kuala Lumpur at The Gardens woot!!!
David, HsuJen, Nigel Sia, Kel Li, Nigel Tee, Suresh were among the many people there. =D Ask them and i’m sure they’ll tell you that Kris Allen, the winner of American Idol Season 8 winner deserve the win back in his country!!
Taking videos on his showcase was somehow challenging to me as the crowd was pushing back and forth, left and right and my hand was super tired the whole time but hey the videos were awesome!!
At least i can say that what i have is pretty unique because most of the people there were flashing their camera the whole time taking countless number of pictures, and wel, my LX3 serves me well in recording clips hehehe.
*but well if you cant wait for it then go youtube and find the videos bah, there were many people there using their handphones to record videos as well!

Kris Allen is coming to Kuala Lumpur!!

Its been years since i last followed closely on American Idol (The last i followed was the one with Carrie Underwood). Haha.
Anyways anyhow, thanks to the friends around, i’ve been updated with the latest news on the recent season of American Idol where i was told that Kris Allen is gonna be in Kuala Lumpur!!
Not a prank and it’s in fact confirmed that the American Idol Season 8 winner is going to perform in KL thanks to both STAR World Asia and Sony Music Malaysia.
The showcase is going to happen like, NEXT MONDAY on the 8th of February 2010, 8PM at The Gardens Mid Valley and if you don’t know yet, the showcase is by invitation only.
To get the exclusive invitations, Hitz.fm is giving out meet and greet
passes to his showcase this week so tune in to win a pair.
You can also get both the meet & greet passes and the showcase invitations, do find out more on this website www.astro.com.my/astrolife for the online contest.
Of course, a showcase without an autograph session will be like quite a big disappointment for the fans then, with that, I’m more than happy to further tell you that WILL HAPPEN as well on the same day itself!

Share the Love at Hannah Tan Christmas Charity Concert 2009

If you’ve been following my blog way before i have my own domain here (as if its that long!) you’ll know about this H-Factor project which was initiated by Hannah Tan. A local celebrity which is unique in her own way who always see the positiveness in every possible manner. That’s how i view her since the first time meeting her in person as well as following her on Twitter up till this day.
I know i’m late in writing this as i’ve been pretty busy lately but anyways, there will be concert happening this coming Sunday and apart from Hannah herself performing, there’ll be others such as Harith Iskander, Hans Isaac, Pietro Felix, Daphne Iking, Jojo Struys, Reefa, Sasi The Don, Meet Uncle Hussein, Reymee and Sam of Innuendo, The Fabulous Cats, Caprice, Atilia, and Liang.
NO you don’t have to pay in monetary wise to obtain the tickets because it’s a charity concert!
This charity concert, offers the public a chance to contribute whatever they can afford in the form of gifts in exchange for the ticket to the concert. In other words, you just need to get a present to get access to this concert and subsequently the presents shall be distributed to orphanages and underprivileged children for Christmas.
Of course if you have a group of friends along with you who is interested, you could reserve the tickets.
