Launch of DIMENSIONS by Maxis and Astro
Nov 13th
Alright here it is!! Malaysia’s first ever made for mobile sci-fi series. Sounds pretty cool eh? But hmmm, made for mobile? How many Malaysians out there have mobile phones that can view videos?

Anyways, i was at the launch of this very series yesterday night at Sheraton Hotel Kuala Lumpur thanks to Esther Teo of FH Communications for the invitation

So yea, there were quite a lot of cameras flashing around with media people doing their job at the launch.

On the night itself, they showed us the very first episode of the series DIMENSIONS which is limited at 5 minutes per episode for each episode in the series. Here are some info about the series itself.
About DIMENSIONS.
Created exclusively for 3G and Online platforms – Dimensions is an interactive adventure filmed entirely on location in and around Kuala Lumpur. Fast-paced and intense, this 11-episode mobile series and sci-fi thriller reinvents the myths and legends of Malaysia, and lures audiences from the streets of KL into the 130 million year old rainforest that surrounds and dissects it, amongst ancient spirits of animist tales.
So yea that’s about it. I do not know what’s the purpose of this whole thing but it is something new and people always like new things, perhaps it would turn out into something bigger? Involving more stuffs maybe?
Of course we could speculate all kind of outcome, but only Astro/Maxis will know about it then and time will tell.

If you’ve read about my previous post here, then you’ll know there was a lucky draw after that and well, 2 Iphone 3GS up for grabs and it went to 2 bloggers who’s…

…like not so happy about it, the cast of the series are even more happy than them in the picture above Lolx. Okay la maybe they were too shock winning the Iphone itself. Right?

well, it’s obvious that Nigel’s magic didn’t work that night, rubbing the lucky ticket number on him didn’t work at all. Maybe too much people did it that the luck were distributed evenly among us. Sob. Haha.

So here it is!
To subscribe, SMS ON DS to 22900 or you could visit www.dimensions.com.my to get your eyes on the series itself.

Are you excited about it?
I don’t know about you but for me i’m interested in seeing how would this would “NEW” thing turn out. I hope that Astro/Maxis do have surprises for us then! =)
Cheers!
Beyonce I Am Pre-Concert Party At Zouk
Oct 16th
It was just hours ago that the pre-concert party ended at Zouk Club. An exclusive party just for the ones who bought their tickets to watch Beyonce live in Kuala Lumpur on the 25th of October, this whole party was mainly sponsored by Maxis Hotlink & Guess.

Typical Malaysian timing, the event was like more than 1 hour late. Thanks to Joe, i manage to see myself one of the very first dance flashmob in a night club in Malaysia assume. Do correct me if i’m wrong.

Anyways, i was dead bored with the delays and all, good thing there was free flow plus there were like 6 “Beyonce” walking around before the event officially starts.

The rest of the post, i’ll make it short and bring you to the main point okay?

There was this fashion show by Guess.

Performances by the 6 “Beyonce”.

A short introduction on the Flash Mob that is going to happen in Beyonce I Am’s concert itself.

Teaching the Celebrities on how to dance the steps that will be used in the Flashmob itself.
and here comes the awesome part of the night!! GO WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW!!! It’s Awesome!
DJ Goldfish was doing his thing putting a mix of songs and all of a sudden when he plays the specific remix of music that’s meant for the flashmob, a bunch of people came out and brought the whole atmosphere one level higher!

Well, for me, the awesome part didn’t end there itself, i got myself RM200 of voucher from Guess and it was totally unexpected!! The prizes that were given out during the night includes stuffs like backstage passes to Beyonce concert on the 25th of Oct 2009, concert tickets to watch Beyonce live in London and of course the Guess vouchers i mentioned above.

So yea, that’s about it. Go Join the flashmob!!
Hope you did enjoy the video above. =)

The backup singers compromising of Kelz, Jen and David however, went on to form their own music production company, Starshine Bright Productions, which will take on some bloggers cum musicians in getting their albums out to the market.

‘I’m a Musicon Celebrity thanks to Maxis Broadband’
Mar 30th
It’s the couple Maxis & Nuffnang AGAIN!! Woot!! I can still remember the wild live party by this very same couple last June. It was pretty awesome with animals bloggers roaming around in the party like nobody’s business!!
So this time round it’s all about music, music and MORE music. All these while, music artists are one of the main source of entertainment be it gossips, events, scandal and all, their lives are the ones that people would be interested in and some would try to impersonate them as well in many ways.

Learning musical instruments is somewhat a rewarding experience for me all these years and i enjoyed it pretty much and i thank God for that. I can still remember that i used to have this small little dream which i believe many of you out there would have, which is to be a music artist. Not a singer in exact, but a musician.

Performing in front of a crowd and having them clapping their hands cheering for the performance is somewhat some faraway dream for me.
People would pay attention on you, wanting to know more about you and you being in the limelight, unlimited exclusive invitations, sponsorship, and the luxuries that come along, all those stuffs are what most people have their eyes on.
Awesome!!
However, in conjunction of this upcoming party that the “couple” have installed for us bloggers, i’ve made this short little video to “memalufied” my ownself for a couple of seconds. =X
Yes, i know it’s very “mengesiasuikan” and i bet you had a bad time watching the video made above lolx. Well at least there’s some leng lui pics at the end of the video mah!! Right? xD
*sorry la i’m not as good as this blogger here –> Blogger Alexander Loh on the Piano for Nuffnang Music Bash 2009
I do hope that i can have a tiny part of my dream come true this very Saturday attending the party being a musicon celebrity for that few hours and Syiok Sendiri. I’m sure that those who’re going there think so too right? Ha!!
Oh and yea, if you’re having a headache on the costume part, head over to Nigel’s blog for more info, he posted a wicked place that have costumes from Catwomen to Ironman to Predator!!
5 Malaysian Blog Links in a Hong Kong Magazine
Jun 27th
Do you know that actually, for every event you attend for free as blogger, you are expected to blog about it?

Be it either a music event, media event, or even some bloggers party. For sure, there’ll be sponsors sponsoring all these events.
Say for instance, the Nuffnang Wild ‘Live’ party that happened just last weekend, it was sponsored by Maxis and Modestos.
How many bloggers attended that party? Minimum 120 bloggers….
but how many bloggers actually blogged about the event?? 20?? 30?? i have no idea.. maybe less….
Why did i state this out?
This is because i realize that actually, Malaysian bloggers are really lucky.

Malaysia blogosphere have became quite active and “happening” recently and many parties/sources are observing us bloggers especially after the general election in March early this year.
Thus, you can see that bloggers in Malaysia actually get free passes to attend more and more events in recent months. All these happen because people realize that blogs can be a medium to promote their products, their events, their services and etc. They want those bloggers to blog about it and promote it “indirectly”.
Just last month, i went to Nokia IAC Event @ Zouk with a bunch of blogger friends – DGMBians, some of us got the passes through Nuffnang, others through other source.

Anyway, after posting about the event itself, i was approached by an editor of a magazine in Hong Kong to use the pictures i’ve added in the post.

We exchanged a few words and i sent him a couple of pictures on the event itself and a few blog links. I didn’t think much on it that time. Since the magazine is coming up with an article on independant music and i can help, why not?
At last, the magazine came out and i downloaded the online pdf version of it. Well, you know.. i’m excited, i’ve submitted a few blogs links and a couple of pictures to them, so you could pretty predict how i look like when i downloaded the magazine.
i was going from page to page finding the “article” and i did read some other stuffs on the magazine as well. It appears that the content of the magazine is really interesting and i actually did read a couple of articles before i reached the page on the article of independant music.

I had a big smile on my face when i reached this page. The links i submitted was there, not only that, they even placed quite many pictures along with the article. In my mind, i was already jumping up and down. I didn’t know i would get so HAPPY being credited by other people.
Alright, come back to the point above, bloggers blog about an event after attending it.
I do think that we bloggers have the responsibilities to do so. Of course, nobody order us and give us command that WE MUST BLOG ABOUT IT, the sponsors didnt ask us to do so, but you need to know the reason behind on why you get free passes/tickets.
You may think so :- “I AM A BLOGGER, I DO WHAT I LIKE AND I BLOG WHAT I WANT TO BLOG” or “AIYA, THERE’ll BE OTHER BLOGGERS BLOGGING ABOUT IT!!“
Yes, no one can force you to do what you don’t want to do, but bare in mind…
if every single blogger have that mindset in them, they don’t blog about the events/movies they go for free, then whats the point of them(the sponsors) giving free passes?
Then sooner or later, we bloggers in Malaysia won’t get chance to go to events and movies for free already.
There might still be, but those bloggers will be BIG SHOT/BIG TIME bloggers who probably have 1k visitors per day going into their blogs. NOT other bloggers.
If you think that there’ll be other bloggers who will blog about it, cut that off your mind now! Sponsors or those who send out invites will need all the credits, testimonial, opinion, thoughts and etc they can get from us bloggers. Be it negative or positive, they’ll still need it.
I have no idea how much this post will make u think about stuffs on blogging, but i do hope that this post can help you understand the mindset of the sponsors and do something in return if you really get to go to events/movies for free as a blogger in the future.
About the Charged Magazine in Hong Kong, i have not much details about it and i’m still new to it but it is an interesting magazine to me. Will download the next issue when it comes out.
