The Friday That Was – Hennessy Artistry & GUINNESS St. Patrick’s Festival!

I often think that some specific people who rush in between 2 different events going from a place to the other is insanely out of their mind, there is no need to do so to make yourself so tiresome and exhausted at the end of the day and no it won’t impress people at all.
But just last Friday i was that insane person who did just what i described above.
Reached Sunway from work super early that day to get the passes for Hennessy Artistry event. Pass for me myself and some college friends who wanted to go very badly that is.
After hanging around at the press conference for a short while, i headed to 1Utama with Ren and Aaron for the St. Patrick’s Festival that is happening there.
St. Patrick’s Festival at 1Utama? It was super nice when i first see it with my own eyes. The atmosphere, the decoration and how they set up the whole place, awesomely planned!
It was beyond happening that night and i actually managed to bumped into some familiar faces in the sea of Malaysians celebrating an Irish Festival with Guinness and a wide range of western food.
Thomas, Alicia and Elaine were the few to start with.
The festival was quite magical with lots of character coming out from wonderland and such and the pictures i have couldn’t really show how awesome it was, perhaps you can google about it haha.

Nonetheless, the amount of people i bumped into went from a few to a handful of them and there were pretty little time to catch up actually as everyone was busy mingling here and there.
But hey i’m not complaining, it was nice meeting old friends and such and exchanging a few more words beyond the normal hi and bye really means a lot to me already.
Left the scene with fireworks and such with drops of rain falling already. It was around 10.30PM.
Back at Hennessy Artistry, the show have just started when the 3 of us got ourselves into the full packed place with lots of crazy people.
Sad to say, i Didn’t really pay much attention at the act as i was busy avoiding myself being a sardine, walking up and down getting glasses of Hennessy as well as hunting down my college friends who can’t be contacted with my network-less phone.
At the end of the day, Hennessy Artistry is happening but somehow i enjoyed myself more at St. Patrick’s Festival where it’s not so packed.
Looking forward to more exciting acts in the next few Hennessy Artistry in 2010!!
The night was pretty awesome after all with the company of friends who are crazy enough to party with.

Hennessy Artistry is Back and Its gonna be at Opera Club, Sunway

Well this will be a quick announcement post. =)
Hennessy Artistry is back!! One of the most awaited event of the year is gonna happen on the 19th of March 2010 at Opera Club, Sunway. Setting the tone for the party at Opera is the Hennessy Mixing Zone which gets a facelift and will feature four new and improved zones – the Hennessy Mix Master, Hennessy Mixing Bar, the Hennessy Digital Light Art Effects, and a Hennessy Live Twitting Zone!
If you’ve been a regular reader of this blog which i shamelessly assume that you are, you’ll know that i blogged several times about this very event that have gained massive response from the public in recent years and it’s been a blast to a lot out there who’ve attend it before, including me. =D
So, straight to the point. Passes to H-Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ at The Opera, Sunway Pyramid is by-invitation only.

H-Artistry at Quattro Kuala Lumpur with Hsiao Hung Jen, Paul Freeman, Lenka and Boys like Girls

It was the very last Hennessy Artistry event last Friday where it was held at Quattro Club, Kuala Lumpur. With artists like Hsiao Hung Jen 萧闳仁 , Lenka, Paul Freeman and Boys Like Girls performing, i was expecting a good night.
At the same time, having no idea at all why they had it in such a small place like Quattro, i was expecting a sucky crowd environment being sardines and all as well.
Reached the place around 10PM+ and as expected, i found myself in a place that is so hard to even move, Hsiao was just starting to perform then.
Who is Hsiao? An artist from Taiwan who i’m not really familiar with. Many people thought he was pretty sucky though. As for me, i didn’t really pay attention on his singing be cause i was too busy er moving and taking pictures.
The emcees were pretty energetic that night.
Paul Freeman was up next and despite me not knowing who is him, i thought that he was quite good. He even pulled one of the girls from the crowd on stage and she sure enjoyed herself there getting up close with Paul, having hugs and kisses from him as well if i’m not mistaken.
Later on, Paul called Hsiao up on stage and they both performed a song which is quite popular, Better Man.
By this time, i already found my way to the media zone WHICH IS ALOT more spacious!! Thanks to Aaron that i know the existence of that place if not i’ll die lack of oxygen that night.
Lenka was one of the main reason i attended this time’s Hennessy Artistry event. Heard of her songs and loved it even before she came to Malaysia having a showcase a few months earlier. It was awesome seeing her performing live, with her band and all and she called Paul on stage where they both sang a song together.
Of course, the bomb of the night, i must say that its was Boys like Girls.
The moment they came out, the crowd, especially the girls went crazy and ecstatic for them screaming their hearts out raising their hands up. Boys like girls didn’t disappoint us and went on performing some awesome acts with some of their well known songs.
The lead singer of the band, Martin brought the atmosphere one level higher and did a few crazy stuffs. At one point, he went front and was pulled by the crowd and vanished in the crowd.
The next thing i know, he appeared on another side standing up high pointing to the crowd and fell on them. Totally crazy, it seems as like the event was a private concert of Boys like Girls. I thought it was entertaining, till i went back home and found out that some people were hurt and some of my friend’s camera’s were damaged. Well.
The way how the event ended was pretty funny i must say. All the band members of Boys like Girls proceed and get a glass of Hennessy and made a toast to the crowd and the crowd responded in…
YUMMMMMMMMM SENNNNNGGGGGGGG!!
Yes Yum Seng that is. Lol. I was left speechless then.
There you go, the last Hennessy Artistry event of the year 2009 in Malaysia. Thanks to the less crowded Media zone, i get to enjoy the acts in this time’s H-Artistry event and do you know that both Paul Freeman and Lenka brought their own band where Boys like Girls brought their own crew, sound people and such with all their equipments as well. 3 different sets of equipments including the music instruments. CRAZY!
That was why there’s quite a long interval in between the acts where lousy DJ-ing + lousy music mixing were clearly displayed in between the intervals. One of the shaking head moments of the night.
At the end of the day. Good Job to the peeps of Hennessy!! Thanks to both Nuffnang & Hennessy.

H-Artistry Press Conference with Lenka, Boys like Girls, Hsiao Hung Jen and Paul Freeman

It was the press conference of H-Artistry earlier this evening at Club Quattro, Avenue K.
Was there just because of some stupid stuffs, i would rather head home and not attending this. Some people are quite idiotic i must say. Sigh. Lets not talk about it at the moment.
Managed to get to see how awesome the artists were at the press conference and as usual, there were lots of cameras flashing and snapping here and there.
Being all lazy and tired, this was the best shot i could get and i proceed in getting 3 glasses of Hennessy Apple.
Many other bloggers were there as well, some of them whom i have not seen in ages already. Great! Hope to see you guys tomorrow as well.
So that’s about it, tomorrow will be the last H-Artistry event of the year 2009 in Malaysia featuring the likes of Boys like Girls, Lenka, Hsiao Hung Jen and Paul Freeman. Do expect to be sardines if you’re going to attend the event tomorrow as the venue for H-Artistry this time is quite small.
If you want free flows of drinks, do come early as the drinks might be finished at a very fast rate.

Hennessy Artistry 25 July 2009 @ Bukit Kiara

The recent Hennessy Artistry event at Bukit Kiara was really crazy. Being able to attend it last year, i knew that this time round would be big and fun as well. All thanks to Nuffnang, and of course Nicholas & Yatz.. xD
It was already 11pm when i reach the place as i have some personal matters to attend to, and again, thanks to Nuffnang, i get to park inside the area which means i don’t have to be like the people who park their car faraway from the venue. Some parked as far as across the road like 15 minutes walk from the place. Crazy party animals. =X
Upon entering the place, i realize that the placement of areas were completely different compared to last year‘s one which i think it was much better. There were more place to walk. Lolx
and of course, the crowd was massive. There was even a crazy long line of people out of the venue waiting to get into the place when i reached around 11PM.
The amount of people who were there, i bet you can get to know lots of new friends if you were to go a few rounds randomly talking to people. and because it is a Hennessy Artistry event, you can go ahead and get unlimited glass of free drinks for the girls. Haha.
Dominique Tsai was performing when i just got there and she is good. Then i started seeing familiar faces here and there.
Nicholas had 7 cups already i think and he’s still obviously awake but Horng‘s face is like super red already. I wonder how many cups he down. Lolx
*ok la so from the comments, Horng said that’s his first glass.
then shortly after that, someone tap my shoulder and there goes another random meeting.
It was my first time meeting Joanna. xD
then i saw both ShuJian and Ren who had a few cups already and they were chilling aside.
One turn behind and i saw a bunch of bloggers having fun dancing, touching, flirting, making out and etc. Uh oh did i just said something wrong? I mean they were having fun themselves, probably had excessive alcohol from the free flow that night already then.
It was then i bumped into Jolyn, the Penang blogger who traveled all the way to KL to attend this happening event she heard since last year.
then Su Ann was seen just arriving at the scene with a few of her friends. So many people already. No chance to talk with every single one of them. T_T
I was busy keeping in touch with some certain people where i totally ignored who was performing and such till this dude came up.
Fat Man Scoop. Many people claimed that he sucked because when he was up there, they kept playing the music for a short period of time and then stop and played another different music and stop again and this process was repeated. Some say that it was because he is fat. I don’t really care anyways but that repeating process was how i stopped a while and wonder who was the one on stage haha. Good way to attract attention.
Met Cracz And Shanz. The family with their name added with a Z behind, just like Yatz. Haha. and i’m pretty sure both of them had fun cause i’ve read what shanz said. LOL.
Miss Yap was there as well working as an official photographer. If any of you do frequent Hypertune Magazine then i’m sure you’ve seen her pictures there before.
*and uh oh she’s single. =X
The night went on with more people having more glasses of Hennessy enjoying the music and of course the company. Most of the invited artists have already performed by 12AM and it was all up to Mr SAM to entertain the crowd for the rest of the night.
There were these dancers on stage when Mr SAM was doing his thing but everyone else was not paying attention at the stage. Lol. At least that was what i saw, people were drinking like there’s no tomorrow

Had a quick picture with the royalties and the almighty Yatz. There were loads more of people there which i’ve heard and seen but didn’t really talk much with and that alone i left for the next occasion to do so bah.
However, it was still fun capturing some random rare people where i won’t really meet daily as well as some of the usual people i meet quite frequently.

and so yea, that’s the night. A night that have not much difference to me compared to other nights with such similar events. Such events that serve a main purpose for me meeting people and keeping in touch with them because there are certain people that is so hard to ask to hang out together even if its as simple as a YumCha session.
About the event itself, i somehow think that the lineup this year is not as good as last year’s one, i was more interested in the lineup last year including Flo Rida and Machi where i have not much clue about the ones this year. Maybe its just me myself and of course i don’t mean that the ones this year sucks, just not as good as i’ve expected. =)
However, the Party Zone Plan was awesome. Lol. I would still say that it is a good event bah.
Despite the car crash after the event and the departure with someone important, the event was one of the small thing that had me holding my smile at the end of day. It was great meeting every one of you who was there that night.

2009 1st Hennessy Artistry Event in Malaysia

Its here, the first Hennessy Artistry event of 2009 in Malaysia.
This time the people at H.A will be presenting a local boy – Caprice and a duo from France, Starz Angels at The Loft, KL on 23 April and QEII, Penang on 25 April.
Caprice, the cute 21 year old has achieved what many thought was initially impossible. He is one of Malaysia’s fastest rising urban youth icons, a singer cum rapper, and a well rounded entrepreneur. I have yet anything to say about these 2 performers as i don’t know much about them.
Hennessy Artistry have brought lots of artist altogether in their past events and made quite a scene in different countries and i hope that this specific one will be a blast like the past few Hennessy Artistry events i’ve attended last year. =)
