Ka Ka Bak Kut Teh 家家肉骨茶 @ Kepong Metro Prima, Kuala Lumpur

Last Saturday, after picking up the girlfriend from LCCT, we headed straight to this famous Bak Kut Teh around the place i stayed in. Ka Ka Bak Kut Teh at Kepong Metro Prima which is located just across of Carrefour Kepong.

From a small little stall that expand till having its own corner shop lot with spaces out in front of the shop for its customer, it’s one of the Bak Kut Teh serving place for more than 10 years already if i’m not mistaken.

If you’ve been to this place before, you’ll know that this specific Bak Kut Teh eating place will always have people around its premise. People will still hunt for Bak Kut Teh up to like 2am early in the morning.

We ordered Bak Kut Teh for 2, with a pot of Lou Chu Yuk(Pork Meat with this black sauce cooked with a mixture of other herbs & ingredients) and Yau Mak With Oyster Sauce & Fried Onions.

Bak Kut Teh – 4/5

Bak Kut Teh was still the same, with the thick herbal taste in the soup base of different parts of the pork meat. The meat was tasty as well where the herbs blended well with it.

Lou Chu Yuk 2/5

This on the other hand came to my disappointment i must say, slightly different from how it tasted like just weeks ago, it was suppose to be delicious with the self made sauce along with the pork meat.

Yau Mak – 3/5

Nothing special about this then, a normal vegetable dish Yau Mak, cooked with oyster sauce with fried onions on top, not too bad though.

*the girlfriend shhh don’t tell her i place this picture here.

Overall, we were both pretty full i think haha and the bill came up to RM28 which i think was alright as i was pretty satisfied with the Bak Kut Teh. =)

Well, there are more varieties that you could choose from other than Bak Kut Teh or you might like to eat along with it as well its all up to you, you can refer to the prices displayed above then.

Jin Hua Fish Head Bee Hoon @ Maxwell Food Centre, Singapore

It was the last weekend of November 2009 that i went to this place having my lunch thanks to the girlfriend who brought me there. =)

Located along Maxwell Road where Chinatown Singapore is just aroudn the corner. This food centre appears to be serving the public in the area for quite a long time already and thanks to Chinatown, there were customers from other parts of the world finding their meals there when i was having mine as well.

Upon reaching, i was shocked that there weren’t any space there, walking a few steps further had me seeing 2 queues to 2 different stalls. One a porridge stall and another one a fish meat noodles/porridge stall. The food that my girlfriend wanted me to try was the later one.

There were a few choices to choose from, all fish related one of course!

Sliced Fish Soup, Sliced Fish Bee Hoon, Fish Meat Bee Hoon, Fish Head Bee Hoon. I guess i don’t have to explain much on that right? It’s pretty straight forward.

As for us, we had Sliced Fish Bee Hoon and Fish Meat Bee Hoon(according to the picture above).

Sliced Fish Bee Hoon (with slices of fish cooked with the soup base)

To my delight, it was much better than what i’ve expect, pretty satisfying! The whole bowl of Bee Hoon was pretty big in portion where they provided quite a lot of fish meat i must say with a fair serving of vegetables.

The bee hoon is good as well, soft and smooth to the mouth. The milk added to the soup was just nice with the slices of ginger as well. Overall, the taste wasn’t THAT strong compared to the ones i had back in Malaysia but the combination of all the different ingredients made it a pretty decent meal, one of the best meal i had in Singapore i must say.

Fish Meat Bee Hoon (with Fried Fish Meat)

Well of course, with that being said, i must admit i didn’t really have the time to explore and try other food there then with just the handful of times i was in Singapore. Perhaps some of you Singaporean bloggers out there would like to bring me to more food places in the future?

Note, the 2 bowls above were slightly different where one of it had the Fried Fish Meat where the other one come with the slices of fish cooked with the soup base itself. Personally, i prefer the fried fish more. =D

The pricing? You can refer above. I think it is pretty worth it. Of course, for Malaysians like me, don’t ever convert the currency! xD

YEAR 2003

The first chat that ever happen between us.

The conversations on ICQ that went on to Emails and MSN talks.

The hundreds of SMS sent and receive each day where it cost RM0.20 per sms.

The amount of reload/Ring Ring cards bought just to keep in touch.

and of course, how could i skip one of the most important thing we shared together.

Heading back home from school expecting a letter in the mailbox.
Reading the few A4 pages excitingly in my room.
Replied the letters almost immediately after reading which resulted in more A4 pages being wasted.

and many more stories between the two of us.

That was the year where it all started. 2003. <3

Her Graduation Day

It was her big day. On the 15th of October.

Quite a busy day for me as i was out since morning settling some personal stuffs going around here and there.

She didn’t know i was going and thought i was working unable to get a leave on that day.

Called her sister earlier on so that i could give her a surprise when i reach there somehow but her sister left the phone back in the hotel and i was unable to get to her. Glad i made it in time where i thought i was late for her graduation.

End up reaching the venue with no idea on where they are and i see lots of people all around everywhere.

Went ahead with my not-so-surprise plan then calling the girlfriend herself telling her i’m there.

The rest of the story involves smiles all over her face.

and that’s just what i hope for.

Following her life since secondary school into this very course then seeing her graduate, i’m very proud of her.

All the best in your future and best wishes to you ya! =)

Love ya!

For You

Its an important day to you today.

Seeing you going through the whole thing all these years just makes me proud of you.

Very Proud. =)

Congrats!

With Love.
