Was at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore last Saturday afternoon where I had lunch there with my girlfriend at Kraze Burgers! We didn’t order much though during that meal and only settled down for 2 different items.

The Matiz ($13) – Rating  3.5/5
Beef patty with cheese, home make pickle, lettuce, sun ripened tomato, grilled onions and bacon marinated in special Kraze barbeque sauce

Garlic Idaho ($8) – Rating 4/5
Sautéd rare-cut potato fries with garlic and butter over sweet spicy sauce, cream mayonnaise and mango dressing

Personally I think that the special BBQ sauce made the burger – The Matiz nice. On the other hand the wedges was pretty good all thanks to the nice blend of sauces altogether.

Quite a comfortable place to have your meal at a decent environment with friendly staffs serving.

When i was in Hong Kong back in October 2011, i have no idea on where to go and what to eat. It was the 2nd day we were there, both me and John were deciding on what to have for breakfast. Before that, i asked a friend before & realized that the citizens in Hong Kong don’t practise having breakfast & dinner is the most important meal of the day.

Then again, i found out about this super famous coffee shop-like place in Kowloon 九龍 where they serve the best scrambled eggs and steamed milk pudding! Apparently, this is a MUST-GO place if it’s your first time in Hong Kong. Upon reaching Jordan Road 佐敦道, we found our way into Parkes St 白加士街 and saw a queue lining up from the entrance of 澳洲牛奶公司 Australia Dairy Company situated in a relatively old building.

It was like 10.30AM in the morning and we waited patiently along the queue. In less than 10 minutes, we managed to get ourselves a place to sit. Here, i must share something with you. If it’s your first time being in Hong Kong, it’s a norm for people to share tables in coffee shops especially those older ones which have created a name for themselves along the decades.

Apart from that, you’re kinda expected to order fast, finish your food/drink fast & pay then leave as soon as possible. This is to accommodate other customers they have waiting outside of the venue. Only applicable to food places which is well known amongst the people living nearby. So yea, we ordered almost immediately after looking at the menu on the wall, with an impatient waiter. Another norm. Lol.

Toasted White Bread with Fried Egg 西煎双蛋 – 4/5 at HKD26 or RM13

Macaroni Soup with Ham Slices 火腿通粉 - 4/5 at HKD26 or RM13

We actually ordered 3 breakfast sets. 1 toasted white bread with fried eggs, 1 toasted white bread with scrambled eggs and macaroni soup with ham slices. I must say that the service here is even faster than fast food chains. The macaroni soup with ham slices was nice, though the broth was slightly salty, the macaroni was cooked perfectly where it’s not too soft/hard. The dish was heart warming. On the other hand, the toasted bread with friend eggs was just nice as breakfast.

What made my day was this - Toasted White Bread with Scrambled Egg 西煎双蛋. The scrambled eggs deserved all the likes possibly and though it looks like any other scrambled eggs you can find on other spots on earth, this specific one is really cooked to perfection. It is a MUST-TRY item and the scrambled eggs served here has high standard where it requires a certain set of skills to get it done & served. No i’m not exaggerating, try it and you’ll know what i mean!

Famous Steamed Egg White Milk Pudding 蛋白燉鮮奶 - 5/5 at HKD20 or RM10

Last but not least, one of their famous serving - Steamed Egg White Milk Pudding 蛋白燉鮮奶!!! Love this to bits, the smooth texture, the right combination of milk & egg white steamed and the sweetness of it which was just nice, it was super delicious! That makes it 2 MUST-TRY item in 澳洲牛奶公司 Australia Dairy Company!! No wonder this place gained lotsa popularity amongst tourists and people only have positive reviews to share about this place.

Had my last sip of Iced Milk Tea 冻奶茶 before ending my awesome breakfast within 15 minutes with all the delicious food i can get from 澳洲牛奶公司 Australia Dairy Company. Paid the bill and left the place with a big smile on my face. Will definitely visit this place again the next time i visit Hong Kong 香港.

Earlier this week when i was still in VivoCity Singapore, i had one of the best dinner in 2011 having Japanese hotpot – Shabu Shabu at Shabuya in the mall. We ordered a set which was available just for the festive period.

It was a very fulfilling meal with both of us adding some weight definitely!! Two types of soup base were served – the Miso Soup Base & the Plain Soup Base. The huge portion of salad came shortly after. It was so huge that we were still having it in mid of having our ‘Japanese hot pot’!

Soon, they placed a big bowl of vegetables as well as assortments of processed meat & 3 portions of beef – both Wagyu & Angus yums!!!

We were pretty busy putting in almost everything into the soup and it was fun doing so with the girlfriend. She was quite cheeky at times & i was just sitting there looking at her mixing this and that here and there.

Ah the beef, it was Ichiban!! The thin slices of beef was the best, placing it into the soup for approximately 10-20 seconds and take out, place in your mouth = YUMS!!

Of course, the soup base was pretty tasty as well, with the assortments of different types of vegetables & meat – this is probably one of the best meal I’ve had in Singapore. Okay, i admit, i didn’t have that much MEALS down south. Will probably do so in the coming year. Haha!

Not to mention, the fried rice served was delicious as well. I finished the whole bowl of rice along with the food mentioned above…

… and find myself having difficulties walking in the mall later on. Too full. Bleh.

The meal ended when the last piece of Tempura Ice Cream going down my stomach as we finally called for the bill.

Great ambiance, good service, delicious food(Yes i’m a Malaysian and i can’t believe i just said that food in Singapore is delicious) & most importantly, it all falls on who are you dining with. *wink*

The bill, is it important? It was SGD 85.80. LOL.

Earlier this week when i was in Singapore, the girlfriend brought me to VivoCity Singapore where we spent most of our Monday there to just ‘ber-paktoh’. She was craving for dessert in this particular shop 满记甜品 Honeymoon Dessert.

The place was fully packed and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes. A norm for more popular f&b outlets in Singapore i must say. The wait didn’t end there lolx. After ordering our desserts, we waited quite long as well. If i’m not mistake – 20-30 minutes.

Took loads of photos in the process of waiting & i’m pretty sure there were some people around who started topics around the 2 of us doing so cause i caught a few eyes staring at us LOL. Of course, we didn’t care much. =X

Soon, the desserts made its grand entrance on our table. We ordered these….

Pomelo Mango Sago with Durian – SGD 10.30 – 4/5

Thai Black Glutinous with Vanila Sauce SGD 4.30 – 3/5

Not sure is it because of the company i had that time but i really enjoyed the desserts especially the Pomelo Mango Sago with Durian. Loved it to bits! LOL.

Had Black Sesame Paste as well since our order exceeded SGD 12 (Promotion that was ongoing, Free)

Tiffanie don’t really fancy it as she’s not a big fan of sesame but well, like i said – i enjoyed the session very much. I call it sweetness overloaded. Shhhh =X

If i’m not mistaken, this specific 满记甜品 Honeymoon Dessert originates from Hong Kong and now there are like 3 branches in Singapore alone. It’s also available here in Malaysia at Sunway Pyramid. Not sure if the standard is the same but a brief browse on the internet shows that the original branch in Hong Kong still serves the best dessert. Well. =)

It was an awesome night. As far as i could remember, i had a great time stuffing myself with endless portions of food with quite a few glasses of alcoholic drinks with good company around. The night was not as crazy as I’ve expected but i had my fair share of joy on the 4th of November 2011 in a country faraway.

The night didn’t end at the dinner. After hanging out at hotel for a while doing room-hopping, a few of us headed out in the middle of the night to have a walk.

and we ate more food – AWESOME RAMEN. LOL.

Tiffanie was around last weekend & i brought her to Wau Penyu at Solaris Dutamas for lunch on Sunday. =)

Upon entering the premise, we felt really hot & stuffy but soon we found out that the place was under some kinda maintenance. Good thing that the staffs there were kind enough to push some portable air conditioner towards us. Anyway, we quickly went through the menu to order food.

The unique selling point of this specific food outlet is they serve some really authentic Malaysian food. Apart from the usual Nasi Lemak & Nasi Goreng, they have Nasi Dagang & Nasi Kerabu as well!

Well, it was a pleasant lunch that afternoon. I ordered Nasi Kerabu Endo while she ordered Nasi Goreng Kampung & to our delight, the food served there was good. Delicious!! =D

Nasi Kerabu Endo RM17.90 – 4.5/5
Mixed Ulam (Bean Sprout, Long Bean, Ginger Torch, Cucumber, Kesum Leaves) in Steamed White Rice, Smoked Beef, Chicken Percik, Salted Fish, Sambal & Fish Crackers.

The rice with mixed ulam smells really nice where the chicken percik tasted just right! The curry paste served along the dish was good and it goes along perfectly with the rice. I finished every drop of it LOL!

Nasi Goreng Kampung RM16.90 – 4/5
Wok Fried Rice, Anchovies, Egg, Sambal Belacan, Kangkong, Fish Crackers & Chicken Satay Skewers

Tasted a bit of this stealing the food from her plate when she wasn’t aware and thought that mine was better hahaha. Of course, this plate of Nasi Goreng Kampung is delicious as well.

A decent place with pretty good food under a good ambiance and of course, up to standard customer service!  Will definitely drop by here again. Gonna get their Nasi Dagang the next time i visit, heard some good reviews on that hehehe. =D

The morning that was which made me a satisfied man with a bloated stomach in Japan. Asakusa 浅草 was the next destination where our tour guide told us we could get the best bargains there for souvenirs & sorts in Tokyo.

With various religious establishments in the district, Asakusa was also a major entertainment area in Tokyo. With Temples & Shrines there, it’s usually crowded when there’re festivals & carnivals happening there.

It was a Friday when i was there & there were lots of locals there as well as tourists who were there for good cheap bargains, just like me. Asakusa Kannon Temple also known as Shensoji, is the oldest Buddhism temple in Tokyo. It was built in year 628 AD. Being there to see the historical building with my own eyes, it was a fantastic feeling!

A shopping street of over 200 meters with the name Nakamise was one of the main tourists attraction. From Japanese products such as Yukata, Kimono, Katana to tradional local snacks and the typical souvenirs such as keychains, fridge magnets & etc, you will surely get the souvenirs you want for your friends and family here.

In my case, i only got stuffs for my family here. Limited budget so didn’t get anything for friends T_T.

Went to Mohei Restaurant at the same area – Asakusa for lunch where we had Japanese Set Meal again. No complaints. Japanese food – AWESOME. LOL

After the lunch, we still have some time left, so we went back to the street to look out for interesting stuffs to get. Had some random bites trying out the local snacks. Oh yeah, one thing about these stalls, when you buy the snacks/food, you have to eat them and finish it all at the spot. Environment cleanliness issues.

After visiting tons of shops finding what i want for my family, we went to the gathering point to proceed to our next destination.

Now that i think back, i should have get something for myself here. Don’t know when will i ever be able to visit this place again, definitely not in near future. T_T

The dogs in Japan seems to be more beautiful than the ones here in Malaysia. Random i know. Next post, Ginza 銀座 & Harajuku 原宿 !!

The first stop on the 2nd day during my trip in Japan was AWESOME!! Reason being is i had freaking delicious food thereeeeeee!!!

We went to Tsujiki Market, said to be the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world, it is located in central Tokyo where it’s one of the tourist attraction spot.

While heading there from our hotel, our tourguide told us that people would wake up as early as 3AM to go to the market and attend the auctions held there! Bidding starts as early as 4AM!

Back on the visit itself, i actually missed breakfast that morning, so i was really looking forward to the food served there.

After walking like 5-10 minutes going past a few rows of stalls, both me and Nicholas decided to stop by at this particular sushi stall.

TRUST ME, the SUSHI served there was SUPERB!!! Freshly sliced from the fish itself in the morning, it was YUMMMMYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Probably the best Sushi i had in my whole life! Check out the pictures. =D

Later on, we continued walking till we reach this particular shop selling grilled Unagi!!! The smell caught our attention immediately and ALL OF US had it. I on the other hand had it with their Japanese rice <3

The trip ended with a few more short walks and random bites around here and there. Didn’t covered the whole market, didn’t have the chance to visit the most famous shop there as well, but I’m satisfied as I had some of the best food Tokyo has to offer that morning (i think).

Would definitely go back to Tsukiji fish market if i ever get to visit Tokyo, Japan….  again!!! =)

The first night in Japan was quite cool, after a long day going to 2 places, we went to Gotemba Kameya restaurant.

Had a very full dinner with another Japanese set meal which consists of a few type of food cooked in different ways.

It was really good and the food standard there really amazed me. Delicious much!

Checked into Prince Hotel Sunshine City which is located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo after a 2 hours bus ride which i slept through out most of the journey.

The room was not bad, with a decent toilet. One thing i dislike is the air cond there. Can’t really adjust to the temperature i wanted and was kinda hot at times. T_T

After bathing and chilling in the room, some of us head out to the streets in Ikebukuro to explore around. Now that i think of it, i should have gone to Shibuya to explore the place there, would have been more fun if that happen.

Well anyways, i had fun myself as well after some of us settled down in a nearby pub. Drank a few glass, played a few rounds of games before heading for supper at Matsuya!

The pork rice we ordered was SUPER nice!!

We actually shared the bowl of rice where 5 of us had 3 bowls because we wanted to try ramen at a nearby stall as well. LOL.

Too bad the ramen weren’t as nice as the pork rice. Fulfilling night anyways & i had fun!!!

The rest of the night shall remain in our memories and that’s about it. LOL.

There goes my 1st day in Japan. Everything happened too fast. Bleh!

After a walk around 庙街 Temple Street, both me and John came across this dessert shop which had quite a number of customers. The venue itself was full of people where there were people sitting outside of the shop as well.

Without second thoughts, we went in immediately to order our desserts.

The place serves quite a wide range of desserts and the ones on the many tables smells really good. This is what we ordered.

芋头西米露 Taro Sweet Sago -3/5 at HKD14 or RM7

芝麻糊 Black Sesame Paste – 4/5 at HKD15 or RM7.5

Frankly speaking, the desserts there weren’t really amazing but it was good enough for us to clear our throats after we went through 3-4 streets back-to-back. The Black sesame paste i had was really ‘gao’ and i enjoyed it pretty much. However, the Taro sweet sago John ordered was a bit tasteless in my opinion.

No harm giving it a try if you happen to be there. =)
