When i saw familiar names with like Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson and Dido on the tracklist with a total of 18 tracks on this OST, i thought that this CD must be a damn good bargain!!

Seriously, going through the album had me opening my eyes wide thanks to the added spices from the Middle East in this album!! The first 3 tracks made me feel like i was in the center of a city on a weekend where everyone is so happening and all, then slowly, i was like brought out of the city to somewhere faraway with some middle east tunes in the background. It felt kinda funny…

It was till the 7th track that made me wake up from my close to snooze state where i went straight to the 8th track – Can’t Touch It by Ricki Lee which gets me moving a little bit here and there.

The 9th and 10th track, Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys and Love is Your Color by Jennifer Hudson & Leona Lewis was looping on my music player after that where i enjoyed listening to them most amongst the whole list.

It was near 1AM when i proceeded to the remaining tracks where coincidentally, the tracks had this magical effect on me casting the sleepy. The second half of the album was quite relaxing, some of which includes choirs with some soft soothing musical instrumentals behind the vocals.

At the end of the day, i think i kinda like this album. Though it’s not the same tunes i use to listen everyday, somehow i seem to be able to accept it. Haha. SERIOUS!!

Well, now i need to watch the movie then. I guess it won’t be bad right?
*Thanks to Sony Music Malaysia for the CD =)

Chris Brown – Graffiti

It was like a few months ago since the infamous incident that had Chris Brown rising to a different level of fame, in a wrong way of course.

Since then, if you surf around the internet and read around, you’ll know that his loyal fans have been defending him and despite the criticism, Chris Brown have been working harder than before where he came out with an album with 20 tracks to repay his loyal fans around the world.

20 tracks okay!! Crazy.

Anyways, i’ve gone through the whole album and handpicked 4 tracks that got my attention the most!

Straight to the point!

Crawl, the second single, is one of the song that i immediately turn up my speakers volume when i started hearing it. With an intro that i loved very much, Chris Brown’s voice was soft but firm at the same time where the orchestral came in slowly in the background and it was quite a good combination. I thought.

Then soon, i came across a song that had the vibes changed from the previous ones, a song that showcased a slightly romantic side of Chris Brown, yet it was at this moderate tempo that i could hummed along easily. What I Do? That was the song.

Dance tunes seems to me a norm for singers like Chris Brown. Well, I.Y.A was one of my favorite song in this album, an acronym for “In Your Arms,” the constant beat with the synthesizer as background had Chris Brown’s distinctive voice attracting me.

For Ur Love is another song with the same constant dance beat in it, but this one had more energy, perhaps one song that had Chris Brown a little bit desperate then, do take a look at the lyrics of this song!

So, people, put the past behind, get your hands on this cd and try listening to it. At least pay attention to the 4 tracks i’ve mentioned above and tell me what do you think. Or maybe you have your 4 personal favorite ones which differ from my opinion?

Aliff Aziz – It’s Aliff’s Time

“Disini, aku menunggu, Cintamu kembali pada diriku”~

Its all over my head already after going through the whole album of Aliff Aziz – It’s Aliff’s Time. The song is “Cinta”. Some music that i must say is quite westernized, Not bad in fact!

Ballads and songs with Up Beat Tempo is what Aliff Aziz have to give to the Malaysians with his latest album that was out in the market since last month.

Joanna & Co.

Apart from the catchy tunes of Cinta, i loved the duet of Aliff with the extremely cute singer Joanna with the title “Kalau Cinta (feat Joanna)”, though the lyrics are pretty simple, it is quite a sweet song telling about a couple who is deeply in love. xD

Then when i came across the 5th track of the album – “Kau Yang Ku Mahu”, it caught my attention straight away!! Some pop music which is quite similar with music from the Western, it is that kinda song which i will set as my ringtone if you get what i mean!

In short, this album of Aliff Aziz sends out positivity where i smiled all the way listening to the album itself and oh in the album, there’s this song – “Selintas Kau Pergi” which is a reprise of Beyond’s famous song – 海阔天空. Pretty much alike with the original, Good Try! =D

It’s Aliff’s Time, Thumbs Up!

Alif Satar – Nakal

Only 19 years old this year, Alif Satar being one of the rising stars from the local tv reality show, One in A Million Season 1 have just released his first very album in December 2009. Me being me myself who rarely pays attention to the local music scene was given this album with just 4 words.

Please… Please, Jangan Nakal.

Out of curiosity, i played in immediately when i was on my way home that very same day i got the CD and was introduced to his first hit with the title “Jangan Nakal”. That means dont’ be naughty. Err.

I was wondering pretty much what did i do recently that is of something naughty then? The worst thing i did was going all the way to Old Trafford and “contributed” to their 0-1 loss to Aston Villa =(

Anyhow, i managed to go through the whole album and seriously, though “Jangan Nakal” prove to be one of those tunes that people would easily hang on their lips daily, i preferred the 4th track more which is “Lagi Lagi Cinta”, a catchy and energize song which caught my attention from the start.

On the other hand, the one song that really had me having the thought that Alif Satar is one talented voice in Malaysia have to be “Katamu”. It was a song composed and written by he himself with a friend Farith.

Looking at the lyrics had me finding Aubrey Suwito’s name as the producer for this song “Katamu”. Awesome i thought!

Support some local music people?

Pauper Lunatic Ryder Huh?

For all you know, there are various genres of music in the world out there where many quality albums were produced each day in different parts of the world. Me being a Malaysian that lives in a country that have radio stations that love to play safe broadcasting & promoting albums base on a certain specific chart from other country, i have not heard about this band before.

The MTV World Stage that happened back last month was where i was briefly introduced to this group of Englishmen with their indie rock band playing some rather unique music i must say.

Being the last band performing on that day itself, i was too tired to pay attention. Getting quite a huge reception though they were the last to perform caught my attention where i proceeded to hear more of their music when i got back home after the event.

The computer sports game FIFA occured to me almost immediately when i started hearing to this album itself. I couldn’t really make a clear line between both sides. A click on google connected the puzzles for me and yes it is!

One of the song in this album with the title “Fast Fuse” was really one of the soundtrack in the FIFA09 game.

The other tracks in the album itself were quite distinctive/unique in a way that from my point of view, you have to really like this kind of music and listen to it long enough for a few more times.

Pauper or not, Lunatic or not, one thing i’m sure that this album is definitely for those who are really into British Indie Rock kinda music.

Fire & Underdogs is quite nice.

Overally, its not really my kind of music i must confess but i’m sure that they managed to get much more fans and attentions this time round with their 3rd album.

You cant deny the fact that they got invited to perform alongside The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Raygun, Boys Like Girls and Pixie Lott as one of the live acts at Asia’s very first MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia back in 15 August 2009.

British Music anyone?
