張紋嘉 Crystal Cheung & 黎美言 Winkie Lai 張紋嘉 of Hotcha from Hong Kong was in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (23 May 2013) for their music live show HotCha馬來西亞拉闊音樂會2013 which was held at Studio Lounge, Tropicana City Mall, PJ.

The girl group Hotcha which debuted in 2007 have came to Malaysia a couple of times in the past for various activities. Though Regen was missed in this particular show, that didn’t stop the fans from supporting Hotcha where a group of supportive fans were scene holding cardboards in front of the stage at Studio Lounge.

The show started on time at 8PM with opening performances by a band performing 6 tracks in total. Hotcha – 張紋嘉 Crystal Cheung & 黎美言 Winkie Lai 張紋嘉 came up on stage later on with a warm welcome from the crowd before performing the first track Hot Lady.

It was a shame that the lighting settings in Studio Lounge was not suitable for the show, good thing the sound system was pretty decent resulting in a good performance by the girls from Hong Kong. Through out the show, the girls have to take both the role of a performer as well as emcees. It was weird but fun at the same time to watch two girls talking so much up on stage.

The whole show went smoothly where it ended around 10PM. Personally, I noticed this particular girl group Hotcha when they first debuted in 2007 where the song 不要防曬 led me to them. At the end of the day, I am happy with the fact that I managed to grab a photo with Crystal 張紋嘉.

动力火车 Power Station has been in the entertainment scene for 15 years and the last time they released an album was in the year 2009. This time round, they are back with a whole new album Light 光 which brings a positive message in recalling the first time you were inspire in life, to find back yourself and protect the light in your heart.

In conjunction of the album release, the rock duo 尤秋興 & 顏志琳 from Taiwan also announced their latest concert tour (2013 Power Station 动力火车 莫忘初衷 继续转动 Moving On 巡回演唱会大马站 Concert Tour) where Kuala Lumpur is one of the cities they’ll be visiting. That being said, both the members of Power Station were here in KL to promote their album and concert with a music showcase at Paradigm Mall being held last Saturday – 18 May 2013.

Scheduled to start at 3PM, they appeared on stage at around 4PM with a group of fans awaiting at the venue. A short introductory clip was played featuring a brief mention on Power Station’s career as well as the album. The emcee then had a short conversation with the group followed by a brief press conference with questions which were pre-collected from the members of the press.

A few appreciation gifts were presented to the group before a short game session involving a few fans up on stage with their idol Power Station.

Through out the whole session, Power Station performed two tracks – 艾琳娜 & 莫忘初衷 from their latest album 光 and I must stress that it was a shame with the fact that the sound system at Paradigm Mall failed big time. The background music was far too loud covering their vocals and the crews didn’t to improve the overall bass/treble.

Tickets for the G-DRAGON 1st WORLD TOUR 2013: ONE OF A KIND IN MALAYSIA concert went on sale just yesterday at Fahrenheit88 with VIP tickets sold out within an hour of the launch. Fans started queuing up as early as Wednesday night which is 3 days before the event. Hundreds of fans queued overnight and there were more than 1000 people in the queue before doors opened at 10AM in the morning of 11th May 2013.

There were positive reception on the concert merchandises as well with fans supporting their idol for the concert that will be happening on the 22nd of June 2013. Check out some of the pictures taken during the ticket sales launch.

The launch event held at the heart of Kuala Lumpur in the last weekend of April 2013 had local celebrities Awal Ashaari and Liyana Jasmay making a public appearance. Both of them were seen holding a brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 each demonstrating some cool features of the phone.

There were several launch locations that particular morning at the 27th of April 2013 and I was at Berjaya Times Square where Umobile was the telco company that was holding the launch event in the concourse area itself, there was a crowd at the Umobile Samsung GALAXY S4 launch already when I arrived at the venue that morning with people lining up to be one of the first few proud owners of Samsung GALAXY S4.The VIPs arrived at the venue at around 11AM before everyone went over to LowYat Plaza for the grand launch of Samsung GALAXY S4.

The launch was so happening and there were several really well planed programs to excite the public. Local celebrity violist Denis Lau was seen performing upon the arrivals of the VIPs followed by a dance flash mob by a whole group of energetic dancers going along a remix track with PSY’s Gentlemen being the last part of the track. THAT created quite a lot of buzz and soon everybody around gathered to join in the big crowd.

Last weekend was FUN!!! After witnessing Heineken winning GOLD at the 4th Putra Brand Awards at the Majestic Hotel on Friday night, I attended Heineken Ibiza Party the next night on Saturday.

The party was an exclusive closed event where 6 finalists who participated in the Heineken Ibiza Final challenge which was held through Facebook earlier were there to fight for the 3 spots WINNING the ultimate prize to watch the UEFA Champions League at Ibiza, Spain.

I wanna go watch too, some more it’s IBIZA!! Well congratulations to the 3 winners who went through a series of tough questions which are related to the UEFA Champions League. The night was filled with good music and good food as well as the ever awesome free flow of Heineken provided.

Hang out with a few familiar faces who where there as well till started drizzling later on. Would have stayed back for a longer time if not because of the rain but well nevertheless, I enjoyed myself pretty much. Cheers!!

2 days back, the South Korean girl group AOA (Ace Of Angels) consisting of Choa, Jimin, Yuna, Hyejeong, Mina, Seolhyun and Chanmi was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the press conference of 2013 Asia Super Showcase in Malaysia. The concert is scheduled to be held at Stadium Merdeka on the 12nd of May 2013 with 3 groups performing in total. Apart from AOA, SNSD and SHINee are the 2 other groups that will be performing that night.

AOA which is a relatively new group which just debuted in July last year was at Renoma Cafe, Bukit Bintang where the press conference started at 4PM.

AOA’s performance in Malaysia the next month would be their 1st oversea event and that is something the Malaysian ELVIS should be proud of. The group which consist of 2 sub group has released just 2 singles so far and they’ve been making waves being a unique idol group from South Korea. While most South Korean girl group debuted with focus on dance/vocals, AOA came out focusing on 3 parts – vocal/dance/band.

Subgroup – AOA Black and AOA White. Black is the band unit while White is the dance unit. Youkyung, the drummer of the group belongs to the AOA Black group. Well if you’re confused, go google more details.

The 4th MY ASTRO Music Awards was held at Putra Indoor Bukit Jalil Stadium on the 14th of April 2013. SHE – 陈嘉桦 Ella Chen was the biggest winner of the night with 5 awards in total. As usual, 林德荣 Jack Lim, 尹匯雰 Wan Wai Fun, 陈志康 Royce tan and Bernard Hiew was the emcee of the night.

莫文蔚 Karen Mok was at Paradigm Mall in Malaysia on the 13th of April 2013 for her first jazz album promo. The album titled Somewhere I Belong was released early this year, apart from the fact that it was Karen’s first jazz album, it was also her first English album.

莫文蔚 Karen Mok arrived at the venue around 9PM with a big smile greeting the fans who waited patiently to welcome the singer from Hong Kong. The emcee, Hau Min from radio 988 briefly interviewed Karen on stage with topics surrounding the Jazz album – Somewhere I Belong before three pre-selected fans were called up on stage to interact with Karen Mok.

The three fans got a chance to speak to Karen face to face and they even sang a verse or two of Karen’s songs. It was really nice seeing an artiste such as Karen Mok who has so much achievements in the past, the best thing was she smiled all the way through out the session which made everyone felt happy. At least I felt so! The autograph session started right away after the interaction session with the 3 lucky fans.

The whole session ended around 10PM+ with a group picture between Karen Mok and her official fanclub members from Malaysia.

Attended WeChat party last week at Neverland Club, Kuala Lumpur and I must say that it was pretty awesome seeing different bloggers of different communities being together in a single venue at the same time.

The party highlighted 2 new WeChat ambassadors from Malaysia – Shaheizy Sam Lisa Surihani, both of whom have made a name in the local entertainment industry.

Apart from the free food and drinks provided at the event along with these cute looking cupcakes, there were performances by Awi Rafael, 许亮宇 Henley Hii and 蔡憶雯 Vivian Chua. The party lasted 3 hours from 7PM to 10PM with games session happening after the performances mentioned above.

For your information, WeChat is an messaging application for smartphone users developed by 腾讯 TenCent from China, 微信 WeChat was officially launched in Malaysia back in 2012.

WeChat offers a few more features apart from the normal one to one/one to many chat functionality. Full list of features offered by WeChat app include Video Call, Moments, Voice Chat, Web WeChat, Emoticons, Group Chat, Shake, Look Around, Drift Bottle.
