Catching up on Bangkok Trip last month! Gosh, 2nd last post to do before i further delay it! =X

Continuing from Somtam Nua @ Siam Square Soi 5, the 4 of us (Me, Tiffanie, Abelene, Eugene) went to MBK Mall. Eventually, we went our own ways exploring the various shops there.

Both me and Tiffanie weren’t really into the items available, instead, we just went window shopping walking around the mall till we got tired.

Weird eh? Go to Bangkok, window shopping. LOL

We ended up at McDonalds where i had a BBQ Rib Burger myself and the girlfriend having her sundae. Boring. I know. Lol.

Hours later, we met up with Abelene & Eugene, took a cab and headed to Yaowarat, Chinatown in Bangkok to hunt for our dinner!! Food again, yay! =D

Yaowarat street somehow made me feel like i’m in Hong Kong (even though i haven been to HK myself before bleh). The old buildings there with all the huge signboards hanging outside kinda attracted me. We were walking along the streets then trying to find a good spot to dine.

No we didn’t have these for dinner. It was kinda gross and we were undecided standing beside the uncle selling these exotic food for more than half an hour. Funny period.

We moved on till we found this decent stall with all sorts of choices for food. Seated down and ordered quite a few dishes.

From pork to lala with fried mix vegetables as well as Tom Yum Gung (With Milk), we were VERY full at the end of the meal. It was GOOD! The Tom Yum Gung with  milk was quite ‘Interesting’, i prefer the original one more though.

We settled down at another stall filling our already-full stomach with desserts which is incredibly delicious. Not too sweet, just nice  & refreshing! Forgot the names of the dessert but would love to try em’ again next time! Hehehe.

After our dessert, we decided to head back to a massage place nearby our hotel to get a massage before calling it a day. A long day it was.

It was the second morning of the trip. I woke up feeling a bit of soreness on my left leg. Thanks to the distraction from the breakfast + some muscle relief cream, i was able to kick start my 2nd awesome day in Bangkok!

A full portrait picture of “Your Thai Highness” like this below which is available for you to admire was made available in almost every single place and i was kinda wondering is it really necessary for them to do so. Brain wash professionals.

My instinct tell me we were kinda ‘scammed’ but i still went on with it on the boat ride after our breakfast. Going with the wind that is. Basically, though we were on ‘dirty waters’, i enjoyed the ride.

The reason being so was probably due to the awesome people i’m with. I could like totally put all things that bothers me aside and concentrate on the fact that i’m in a foreign country. Would definitely love to visit the floating market a few hours away from Bangkok the next time i visit Thailand to get a piece of ‘above waters’ bargaining experience!

Of all things, we had ‘Cincau’ & ‘Otak Otak’ there LOL!! Of course they weren’t call those names, forgot what’s their name, anyways the Otak2 is delicious and big in size but quite spicy where we had to buy cold water after having ‘Cincau’….

Anyways, we head to Siam Square (Across Siam Paragon) to get some food which i googled earlier. There’s this place called Somtam Nua @ Siam Square Soi 5 which was reviewed by CNNgo.

It appears that CNNgo was right, we had to line up out of the place for a nice 10-15 minutes before we could get a table to ourselves where the place is relatively small packed full with food hunters i supposed.

I don’t remember the exact names of the dishes we ordered, erm we had Fried Chicken, ‘Dunno What’ beef, Pad Thai (Fry Thai Noodles), Papaya Salad and Coconut as drink!

The place is famous with its Papaya Salad and it was good!!! But well, as i’m not a salad person, so i loved the Fried Chicken more than any other dishes on the table that afternoon.

The sauce they provided as shown below was made specially and it was DAMMNNN GOOODD!!

Do visit the place if you happen to travel to Bangkok for  business trip/holiday purpose! =D

In Bangkok, stalls like this open whole day long. You’ll never fail to find food whenever you go. Pretty amazing! Our first dinner in Bangkok, Thailand was very satisfying. We had Pork Satay, Minced Pork & Bean curd in soup, Pad Thai, Pork Balls, Fried Kangkung, Fried Carrot Cake, Fried Rice!!

That was quite a lot of food for 3 person as Tiffanie was resting back in the hotel where we were having our dinner at a place near the hotel. Tiffanie joined us after that & we went to Patpong night market where we did some window shopping again!

Wanted to buy this shirt but it was a bit too colorful…

Basically, we just went through the night market with a quick look on most items without really bargaining or even buying. There were a lot of items selling at pretty cheap price but we were just taking our own sweet time.

One funny thing which happened was one of the Thais there saw Eugene and wanted to call him for a Tiger Show/Ping Pong Show but later on saw him holding Abelene‘s hands. He/she then told him to come later ALONE lolx!

The visit at PatPong night bazaar ended with a banana split at Haagen Dazs after 1 hour of walk.

Went back to the hotel after that and looked for a decent place to have a nice foot massage before calling it a day. At RM15 for the massage, i couldn’t really complaint much. Nah, no pictures on that. xD

Had QUITE a good time in the past few days!!! Went to Bangkok, Thailand to escape from reality. No constant checking mails, Twitter, Facebook & etc; just enjoying myself walking around in a place with different culture! With Tiffanie of course!

This is one of the most random trip ever for me!! It was good travelling around with Eugene and Abelene AGAIN! The first time we hang out together in a foreign land was 1 year ago in Melbourne! Being quite a last minute trip, everything was confirmed 2 months back where actual plans didn’t really exist thanks to the failed planner – me. =X

It was a deal bought by Abelene on one of the group buying site. Accommodation at Ecotel Hotel (with breakfast) plus return flights  & airport transfer service which costs around RM700+ per person. Quite okay for me.

We boarded Lufthansa German Airlines!! The seats was okay but the food sucks. LOL =X.

Well anyways, the flight we took was in the night where we reached Bangkok near midnight!!

Was too tired for no specific reason, so we head to bed immediately after checking into the hotel. Wrong decision though, should have gone to get our FIRST massage session of the trip!

Well anyways, the next day, after having breakfast at the hotel, we decided to take a short tour around the city in their ever famous transportation vehicle – The Almighty Tuk Tuk!

If you ever visit Bangkok and it’s your first time where you don’t want to waste your time, NEVER let anyone bring you to these place. Eg : GEMS GALERY INTERNATIONAL/CHIN JEWELRY & etc. Yes they have beautiful stuffs to see but it’s only nice to SEE.

The tour around the city was quite okay though. Reminds me of places I’ve been/seen when i first set my foot in the city 2 years ago.

Had a short time taking pictures with the Tuk Tuk we sat in before getting lunch in one of the local shops around near our hotel.

Little did we know that we would be having good time eating more instead of shopping more but the meal above was just the start as we see, eat, ate rather than see, shop, shopped!!

Talking about shopping, the first stop we went to look for stuffs is Pratunam Complex, 10-15 minutes walk from our hotel – Ecotel Hotel.

Took a few pictures together along the way before walking in the mall full of shops selling almost EVERYTHING! I guessed i don’t have to elaborate much right? A whole lot of people out there have said and commented the same exact thing about shopping in Bangkok. =)

But well, the funny thing about the 4 of us is, when most people went into the mall empty handed & leaving the venue full of plastic bags, we went in and came out empty handed as well. Erm, Tiffanie did came out with bags…. like these… in the picture below….

Anyways, as we weren’t rushing anywhere and we’re on a free & easy trip, our first afternoon ended after we left Pratunam Complex. Tiffanie was having a pain / headache and the weather has gone from sunny hot to cloudy with a possible rain so we headed back to the hotel to rest after that.

Will write more about the trip with more pictures (after filter) showing more food rather than victorious items we got from shopping LOL!!!!
