The Queen and Mangosteen at Vivocity, Singapore
May 8th
After last weekend which made me pretty speechless, somehow i miss Tiffanie more and started going through some of her pictures on my computer only to find out i didn’t blog about this lunch session when i was in Singapore back in March. =X

We went to The Queen And Mangosteen at Vivocity, Singapore. A pretty pleasant and comfy place.

It was her birthday actually and i called Steph and Mike out for a simple lunch

Tiffanie and Steph
Prolly something too simple for a birthday lunch but i’m not THAT rich that i could splash loads of money with the currency being converted SGD so… Yea… =(
Anyways, there’s this 3 course meal for SGD38 and if you top up another SGD7, you get a half pint of their Archipelago beers.
So Me, Mike and Steph ordered the the set where both me and Mike added the SGD7 for the beers. Tiffanie

Salmon Salad – 3/5

Mushroom Soup – 2.5/5
To be frank, for such a place that had me having good impression when i first step in, the starters above disappoints me where it’s just normal. Nothing to wow about.

Roasted Angus Rib-eye of Beef – 4/5
Good thing that when the main course came, i did enjoyed it. The rib-eye was medium cooked and it was soft & easy to bite, with the texture of beef to my liking, the plate was served in just the right portion.

Roasted Spring Chicken – 3/5
On the other hand, Mike’s Roasted Chicken seems to be quite a disappointment for him. It was too small a portion for a lunch meal and for someone who is bigger in size than me, i’m pretty sure he didn’t get enough that meal. However, according to Mike, the chicken was quite okay.

Roasted Rack of Lamb with Rosemary Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus and Mint Yoghurt (SGD29) – 3/5
Last but not least, the Lamb Rack that Tiffanie ordered was pretty filling and it was well prepared. I only had a few bites but i think it was delicious and most importantly, she liked it pretty much, so i assume that this dish is worth ordering!

The 3 Course Meal comes with this sinful dessert above, do i need to describe more? =D

Alright so, it was quite a good lunch session actually and i really owe both Mike and Steph a lot as for some unknown reasons, there was a big wide smile hanging on Tiffanie’s face that afternoon after the lunch.
Perhaps it’s because that Mike & Steph offered to pay the bill but i still think that there’s something that made Tiffanie happier than usual. =D

Mar 28th
2 weeks back, i went to Singapore to celebrate her birthday. =)
but being a useless bf myself and not having a complete plan that is, i actually panicked and was scratching my head thinking of what to do, where to bring and such. Headache much.

Ended up at Paragon, went to this place Soup Restaurant which the gf decided so then. Just because she went to another branch and said that the food was delicious so we went to this place for dinner.

Okay so it was quite a nice and comfy place, but hey for a birthday for someone special i somehow felt bad about this then. Needing to stand in a line to wait to be brought into the place for dinner double that feeling there and then.

The Food hmmm.

Hand Chopped Minced Pork Meat with Salty Egg – 2/5
Looks nice on the menu with simple straight forward description but when it came and i had my first try on it i was a bit tad disappointed. The pork weren’t really well cooked and it was salty, a bit too salty that is.
Not a good start huh?

Kangkung Sambal Belacan – 3/5
Ordering this pretty ordinary dish that is widely available back in Malaysia makes me comparing it straight away when it came. To my surprise, it was at least above average. The Sambal Belacan wasn’t too spicy but overall the dish is a bit too oily.

Claypot Tofu -4/5
This is one awesome dish which makes me nom nom nom all the way. Of course, when it came i was a bit surprise because from my knowledge, claypot tofu normally consists of a few types of vegetables along with the Tofu itself. But this alone its just the Tofu.
The specially made sauce which was added on the Tofu made the dish awesomely delicious but if you’re pretty particular about oily food, then you might not want to order this then.

Ling Zhi Lean Pork Soup – 3/5
This soup is pretty fine to me. Just a bit too sweet and the pork meat are not edible (Too Hard to Chew).

Soup of the Day – Chicken soup with Corn – 3/5
This soup is just normal. There’s corn and there’s chicken and it taste just right. Ok i’m pretty lazy at describing about it already then.

For all you know, at this time of me typing out all this, i’m already having this very guilt in me for not having a perfect birthday dinner plan for the gf which i was hoping to have for her. Furthermore, the food served at this very place doesn’t have any wow points to be told as well.
I’m such a lousy guy right?

but i did enjoyed my time being with her then. =X

Her Birthday!
Mar 14th
At this very moment while i’m writing this, there’s only 5 minutes left till your birthday ends.

I’m glad i made my way down south to celebrate your birthday, going to Singapore just spending time with you and nothing more than that really had me thinking that it’s all worth it.

especially when i see you having that big wide smile on your face. It was really great going out and just spending time with you alone.

Nothing fancy though, no big plans doing a lot of stuffs, just a simple birthday celebration with you where i really hope that you’re happy!!

With lots of love,
Happy Birthday Dear!! =)

Spent the last weekend of 2009 with one of the most important person in my life at Singapore. =)

It was wonderful witnessing the colorfulness of Clarke Quay!

and it was exceptionally nice when its spend walking along the streets there holding someone’s hands. Breathing the same air beside the river in the midst of busy atmosphere around us, just enjoying being with each other.

Had quite a delicious dinner, one meal that i was looking forward to so much before i made this trip. =D

Caught some awesome street performance which had lotsa spectators there!

Dec 7th
It was the last weekend of November 2009 that i went to this place having my lunch thanks to the girlfriend who brought me there. =)

Located along Maxwell Road where Chinatown Singapore is just aroudn the corner. This food centre appears to be serving the public in the area for quite a long time already and thanks to Chinatown, there were customers from other parts of the world finding their meals there when i was having mine as well.

Upon reaching, i was shocked that there weren’t any space there, walking a few steps further had me seeing 2 queues to 2 different stalls. One a porridge stall and another one a fish meat noodles/porridge stall. The food that my girlfriend wanted me to try was the later one.

There were a few choices to choose from, all fish related one of course!
Sliced Fish Soup, Sliced Fish Bee Hoon, Fish Meat Bee Hoon, Fish Head Bee Hoon. I guess i don’t have to explain much on that right? It’s pretty straight forward.
As for us, we had Sliced Fish Bee Hoon and Fish Meat Bee Hoon(according to the picture above).

Sliced Fish Bee Hoon (with slices of fish cooked with the soup base)
To my delight, it was much better than what i’ve expect, pretty satisfying! The whole bowl of Bee Hoon was pretty big in portion where they provided quite a lot of fish meat i must say with a fair serving of vegetables.
The bee hoon is good as well, soft and smooth to the mouth. The milk added to the soup was just nice with the slices of ginger as well. Overall, the taste wasn’t THAT strong compared to the ones i had back in Malaysia but the combination of all the different ingredients made it a pretty decent meal, one of the best meal i had in Singapore i must say.

Fish Meat Bee Hoon (with Fried Fish Meat)
Well of course, with that being said, i must admit i didn’t really have the time to explore and try other food there then with just the handful of times i was in Singapore. Perhaps some of you Singaporean bloggers out there would like to bring me to more food places in the future?
Note, the 2 bowls above were slightly different where one of it had the Fried Fish Meat where the other one come with the slices of fish cooked with the soup base itself. Personally, i prefer the fried fish more. =D
The pricing? You can refer above. I think it is pretty worth it. Of course, for Malaysians like me, don’t ever convert the currency! xD

Singapore with Her.
Aug 13th
The start of last weekend was some kinda disaster for me where i received a few bad news just last Thursday and the whole thing kinda got to me. With that i made a last minute decision to head down all the way south to Singapore.

and i didn’t even know that its around Singapore‘s National Day!! Awesome!! Oh and i went down to Singapore alone by myself. xD

It was an insane trip i must say, with the awesome public transportation service available there, i went to a couple of places, with my day spent on walking and walking and walking only. Not shopping or anything else but just walking.

I was told that most Singaporeans is not in town during the day after Singapore‘s National Day and they would go to Malaysia to shop. True enough, i have 2 friends who’s in Singapore being in Malaysia when i was in Singapore.

Most of the streets were pretty quiet with not much vehicles on the road and i had a great time walking relaxing myself putting almost everything behind my back for a moment. Getting away from reality that is.
A big thanks to my girl who’s currently in Singapore, it was because of her i felt much more better after going through all the shitty stuffs back in Malaysia. Of course, if it wasn’t because of her, i wouldn’t know where and how to go to here and there in Singapore. Laughs.

Going to places like Tanjong Pagar, Raffles Place, Orchard, Bugis, City Hall, Espanade, Suntec City, Outram park, Harbour Front, Vivocity, Buona Vista and etc changing trains 8 times and bus for 4 times. It was one heck of a trip.

I wish that i am still spending time with her just right beside me at this moment.
