Kuantan Trip & Ibrahim Cendol Air Putih
Aug 15th
Spending time with your loved ones are always the best thing you can do in life. The girlfriend went back to hometown during the weekend and i followed her for a short 2 days 1 night trip to Kuantan.
The last time i’ve been to Kuantan was really years ago, so long that i couldn’t really remember what i did already. It sure feels weird hanging out with her family as i don’t see them all the time and communicate with them though me and he girlfriend have been together for quite long already.
Despite the unusual quietness in me where i observe more than i talk, i had quite a good time laughing and smiling at the conversations exchanged between the girlfriend and her parents.

then, one thing i find it funny is sitting on the passenger seat rather than the driver seat where the girlfriend drove me around in her hometown with her “awesome” driving skills!!
It was quite an experience, one of which i don’t go through normally Haha.
Anyways, just this afternoon, she brought me to this awesome Cendol stall with her younger sister. The Cendol which she promotes through out the year that i’ve not try before that is.

It was a relatively small corner shop lot with like what, 30 years of experience in serving Cendol to the people in Kuantan and it was as awesome as how my girlfriend have shared all these while!! RM1.50 for a bowl of Cendol as awesome as this is really too cheap to be true.

and i ended up finishing 2 bowls of it, one Cendol Campur and one Cendol Campur Pulut. Awesome stuffs i tell you!

Oh and i had the Pulut Ikan also, simple and nice. =D

Of course, at the end of the day, it’s probably the company which made this cendol experience extra sweet lol. Sometimes i laugh thinking back at how we first started and lasted thus long together.
Crazy man!!
OH and this is her dog! As in their family dog Ruffy Haha!!

Will post more on Melbourne in the next few days, mainly on food. xD
ShareJonker Street Melaka
Jun 8th
It was just after Wei Ru’s wedding lunch that we decided to stopped by Melaka on our way back to Kuala Lumpur from Batu Pahat. Nothing really special actually. But the fact that i haven really step my foot into the streets of Melaka in the past decade (i think) had me going excited.

Stepping into a world on itself with toys from the past which most of it i only see on movies/shows had me going wow. Yes i didn’t know that these stuffs still exist, in bulk some more! That’s what happen when a city boy go into such a place like Jonker Street.

Well, not an insult to the people at Melaka, just a way of describing how stupid i am that’s all, i had quite a few minutes of fun before i found myself sweating like mad. Malaysian weather is to be blame!

With bit of disappointment when we found out that the famous Jonker 88 have closed already, we settled down at the stall beside it, Long Fong Ge.

Our disappointment went to the max when we started tasting the Cendol and food being served. I have no idea whether is it because of too much customer going in and out of the place, the food weren’t well prepared. Quite sucky in fact. On the other hand, the Cendol served was quoted not as nice as Jonker 88 ones.

The stay didn’t last very long after the short meal as we were already looking forward towards the air cond on our way back to Kuala Lumpur.
One day i must really get an air cond and install it at home!
One day i must get back to Jonker Street again and get a taste of Jonker88!!
ShareSpeechless Weekend
May 3rd
Manchester United’s fate is pretty certain already with Chelsea winning 2-0 over a funny Liverpool side. A miracle will be needed or perhaps some bookie match fixing under table business have to happen if Chelsea were to fail in winning the premiership.

Anyway, putting it aside, i came back just yesterday from this so called “Company Team Building Trip“. Legends say that it will help increase productivity amongst employees but legend is legend, i shall not further comment on that.

Swiss Garden Resort, Damai Laut, Perak
So it was some kinda retreat i didn’t see it coming along. In fact, it came too fast that have to actually accept it before i can actually think whether or not to go.
With her being in KL this specific weekend and me being at somewhere 3 hours away from KL really saddens me. But the keyword compulsory in the email made the difference and thanks to the wastage of time in the afternoon which leads to me reaching back in KL late, the plan of meeting up with her before she leave was ruined.
Pretty stupid actually and that’s all i’m gonna say.

It’s a weekend i didn’t really speak much. Quite speechless.
ShareRestaurant Chardin Sea View Seafood Village @ Port Dickson
Nov 20th
It was like a month ago that i went to this place for dinner with a few close friends while we were at Port Dickson for a break over that weekend.

Restoran Chardin Sea View Sea Food Village at Port Dickson.

We were pretty clueless that time and drove around for like approx. 10 minutes and just decided to dine at this very place when we passed by the restaurant.

We were hungry and it seems like a decent place to us with lots of customers there then.

Did the ordering within 5 minutes and started taking pictures hmm.

The girls in the picture above are Melissa, WeiRu, Mun and May. Chee Hwa refuse to take a picture with me and Andy in the second picture because he thinks he’s too handsome for us.
So right, straight to the point. The food!

Seafood Taufu (Fried Taufu with Seafood Toppings) 3/5
I love this dish just mainly because i love both Taufu & Seafood!! Frankly speaking if you ask me how it taste like, it was rather plain where the taste wasn’t fully brought out when it was cooked. There were prawns and eggs along with the Taufu.

Fried Prawn Paste in Butter Style 4/5
This on the other hand was quite tasty the prawn paste were well fried and i like it especially because it was fried with these curry leaves that made the whole dish smells and taste much nicer. Then again, i like it wet style where it wasn’t very very dry where some restaurants will serve.

Steam Sek Pan Fish 3/5
Alright for a seafood restaurant like this, i was actually expecting for the fish to be a bit more fresh but to me it doesn’t seem so, anyways, it was pretty edible of course and it was just as normal as any other steam Sek Pan fish out there. Not much difference.

Fried Kangkung with Belacan 4/5
Quite a well known Kangkung dish in Malaysia i must say. With just Belacan and Garli, this very dish is among one of the favourite dish among Malaysians. A simple dish that is not that simple to prepare where the Belacan must be prepared well and i think that this one i had in Port Dickson was not bad at all!

Siong Tong Lala (Clams) 3.5/5
One of the more common way of cooking clams and the freshness of the Lala was still okay in my opinion. The ginger slices made the “soup” tasty and i was enjoying the soup more than the clams if you ask me. There were a few other hungry friends that time so i didn’t manage to get alot of these then Haha.

Black Pepper Deer Meat 2.5/5
Last but not least, we had this. Quite a spicy dish i must say that they had too much black pepper on it. I had just a few piece then i was already drinking 2 cups of water down my stomach. Not like we requested it to be extra spicy then. I believe this one would be a fantastic dish if not because of its over spiciness. Does such word exist? Lol

So that’s about it. Overall the place was pretty good, nice environment and atmosphere but the food was not up to standard i think. I know that Port Dickson isn’t that much of a tourist attraction anymore where they might get lesser customers out from the town but i think that the standard should be there then.
However, the whole trip down to Port Dickson was awesome! Read about it here. =D
Oh and here’s the price for the food.

Reasonable? Hmm

How was your weekend?
Aug 23rd
I’m still pretty disturbed with this at the moment. Not to mention having a few other personal stuffs i have to deal with.
but I’m really glad that in these days, i still have people around that i could talk freely with and share stuffs that’s a little bit more personal. These people will just get lesser and lesser along the years.
I didn’t even expect to get some hometown specialties from a fellow ex-college mate.

Thanks to YewJoe for that.
Compared to the eventful weekends i had sometimes, this very weekend was quite a quiet one for me. A peaceful one, spending more times with friends from other circle.
Going out to yumcha sessions, playing 2 games of Dota on a Friday night.
Then its Saturday already, it feels good playing basketball again after being absent for almost a month, not to say i’m pretty good in it, i enjoyed the run and sweat seeing the people again after being MIA for a month.
then, there’s this stupid event which i don’t event want to elaborate on attending it with a few of the usual. Most stupid event ever i call that.
Watched the match between Manchester United and Wigan during the night.

It was quite a roller coaster ride watching the match resulting in 5 goals scored by ManUtd in the second half with a sucky first half. Nothing much to boast about being a ManUtd fan as its only Wigan where ManUtd lost to Burnley in the last match but heck, it was still nice watching them scoring.
Watched this movie later in the night. AGAIN.

and the next thing i know, we’re up on Genting already. Somewhere i wished to go and relax since end of last month.

Had dim sum for breakfast after the random Genting trip. That’s about it, my weekend. At some certain extend, i’m a happy person and having fun in life, but at the same time, i’m kinda struggling when it comes to reality, breaking out from the whole picture and going to the next picture seems so hard to me at the moment.

Right?
and yea, Happy Birthday to you! =)
*and all the best to a friend who’s going to Bangladesh to work tmr, though its just 2 weeks.

I almost forgot about this post, had the pictures compiled in a folder but never did touch it till NOW, HAHA. Crap.
Anyway, this is about one of the many awesome stuffs that happened more than one month back during the Chinese New Year period.

the usual camwhoring sessions…
After some random and pretty last minute planning, a few of us DGMB-ians gathered together and had a house-visitation session from here to there, up and down within Klang Valley.

proceeded to the house of the Nuffnang featured blogger March 2009.
Pam and Nadia.
Since Yatz have some hamsters over at his place, the girls got a bit excited and started playing around with the hamsters… Some of us started playing cards which involve money…
