The Japanese did it again! The latest photo meme which has gone viral on the internet featuring a visual trick displaying giants against normal sized humans is getting various attention in the month of May 2013. The pictures were actually made based on the plot of Attack On Titan 進撃の巨人,  a relatively new Anime series which just debuted in April 2013 where it has created waves of conversations due to its unique plot.

The manga version of Attack On Titan 進撃の巨人 actually started off back in 2009 where it was just part of a monthly publication of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. A stand-alone tankōbon (Single Book by itself) version was released only in 2010 with the anime series being released in 2013 as mentioned above and THAT was when this title picked up interest from various individuals.

Japanese fans of the title Attack On Titan 進撃の巨人 has posted such images in the mid of April 2013 and there are quite a few other pictures featuring different versions of giants. One particular Twitter user with the Twitter handle @murai79 posted an image through Twitter and that tweet was retweeted more than 4,000 times.

The news of a live action adaptation on Attack On Titan 進撃の巨人 (Shingeki no Kyojin) excites the Anime community as well with an unofficial poster making its round of sharing on social media networks in recent weeks.

Featuring stars such as Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Chris Bridges, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and John Ortiz, Furious 6 is the last Fast and Furious movie with Justin Lin as the director and I totally loved what he has done for the movie franchise putting a good touch to it.

Watched this movie just yesterday night at 1 Utama thanks to ChurpChurp Malaysia and I must say that thought this film has quite a number of loopholes with illogical parts in it, Fast and Furious 6 is a movie YOU MUST WATCH. Definitely one of the best movies I’ve watched in 2013.

In Fast and Furious 6, there wasn’t a clear emphasis on what cars to be featured. Muscles and Tuners both are equally important in the film but further more, I liked the fact that the relationship between the group were focused on where it all started with all of them reuniting to get back Letty, who should be dead base on what happened earlier in the Fast and Furious universe.

I don’t know will you noticed it or not but there are quite a number of illogical parts in this movie, questions that start with how, why will constantly come up but well screw all of that because the awesomeness of the engines sound in the cinema hall puts everything aside.

There’s a lot to laugh at in the movie, quite a big portion of the conversations were funny and I’m sure those who’re totally not into cars will enjoy this film too. If you’re expecting non-stop action scenes from the start till the end, then I can tell you here that it’s not the case for Furious 6. Anyway, I liked the breaks in between different action scenes, just right for me to digest the previous action scene before the next one comes kicking in. The flow of the story was nice.

I guess the best part of the Fast movie franchise is that the chemistry between the cast, how every characters compliment each other which was highlighted in and out the film. Of course, there’s a bit of surprise on the ending part. Nice one I must say. Tokyo FTW!

The fact that there are several touch points placed by Justin Lin connecting the different Fast and Furious movies bringing the different characters together as a close entity really had me liking this movie very much and I’m totally looking forward in what the Malaysian director James Wan can do to Fast & Furious 7!

The low profile relationship has ended officially. According to a report by Hong Kong media, 阿娇/钟欣桐 Gillian Chung of Hong Kong Cantopop girl group TWINS has broke up with her boyfriend 权宁一 Tyler Kwon, a Korean businessman and the relationship lasted less than 1 year.

It was a mutual decision by both parties where the broke off happened due the fact that they are both busy with their careers as well as they are in a long distance relationship resulting in minimal time spent together. The couple broke up in a peaceful manner.

Let’s hope Gillian Chung finds her Mr. Right soon!

To keep his daughter away from public eyes especially the paparazzi, Andy Lau recently acquire a private plane – Embraer Legacy 650 costing MYR98 Million (CN¥2,0000,0000/二億元) which has a seating plan for 13 passengers in three partitioned sections. The plane also allows him to travel around the world with his family in peace so I supposed this is a good buy?

Looking at the fact that Andy Lau has kept low profile on his relationship with his partner from Malaysia, this isn’t a surprising move by the international star.

The Great Gatsby is one of the best movies I’ve watched in recent weeks! Totally loved the story and the setting with all the fancy makeover, the classical taste in the background and the whole plot itself. I don’t know about you but I personally appreciate watching movies like this which highlights a certain culture, people, background & etc from the past.

There is not a single doubt in Leonardo Dicaprio’s performance from his body gestures to the way he speaks and how he showed that charming smile and confidence & etc. Apart from that the story was what which attracts me the most.

Featuring a mysterious central figure from the narration of a first person view through Nick Carraway, The Great Gatsby was set in the 1920s and it was far entertaining that I’ve expected especially when the whole story was just a single sided narration from just an individual – Nick Carraway.

In present time, the character Nick was created as an unreliable person who has a history of multiple bad habits with alcoholism being one of it. With that as a base to the whole story, there were quite alot of parts in the whole movie which might be subject to just Nick’s opinion/judgement rather that what really happened.

Before Gatsby himself made an appearance in the story, the mysterious fog around the character really had me hooked to the cinema screen and the story became even more interesting when Jay Gatsby came out approaching Nick Carraway in a party.

The rest of the story featured the lives of the corrupted, riches and powerful individuals. Love and relationship was a big part of the whole plot as well and it was kinda sad the see the fact at the end of the movie with the fall of such a figure which was carefully narrated from the start to the end.

The Great Gatsby is more than a good watch and the best part of the whole movie was during the confrontation between Gatsby and Tom in front of Nick and Daisy. The tension in between different characters in that small room with tons of priceless expression being portrated, it was really well done. Go watch it!

动力火车 Power Station has been in the entertainment scene for 15 years and the last time they released an album was in the year 2009. This time round, they are back with a whole new album Light 光 which brings a positive message in recalling the first time you were inspire in life, to find back yourself and protect the light in your heart.

In conjunction of the album release, the rock duo 尤秋興 & 顏志琳 from Taiwan also announced their latest concert tour (2013 Power Station 动力火车 莫忘初衷 继续转动 Moving On 巡回演唱会大马站 Concert Tour) where Kuala Lumpur is one of the cities they’ll be visiting. That being said, both the members of Power Station were here in KL to promote their album and concert with a music showcase at Paradigm Mall being held last Saturday – 18 May 2013.

Scheduled to start at 3PM, they appeared on stage at around 4PM with a group of fans awaiting at the venue. A short introductory clip was played featuring a brief mention on Power Station’s career as well as the album. The emcee then had a short conversation with the group followed by a brief press conference with questions which were pre-collected from the members of the press.

A few appreciation gifts were presented to the group before a short game session involving a few fans up on stage with their idol Power Station.

Through out the whole session, Power Station performed two tracks – 艾琳娜 & 莫忘初衷 from their latest album 光 and I must stress that it was a shame with the fact that the sound system at Paradigm Mall failed big time. The background music was far too loud covering their vocals and the crews didn’t to improve the overall bass/treble.
