Compared to mainstream Kpop music, Korean Reggae music scene is relatively new to the public and recently, a group is grabbing attention with their unique blend of music through the music genre.
Korean Reggae Duo SKULL & HAHA was in Malaysia recently and they definitely showed Malaysian Kpop fans a different side of the Korean Pop music scene. It was a show filled with fun and energetic performances.
Prior to the showcase, Skull and Haha (Ha Dong Hoon) stated they were excited to be in Malaysia to perform for the first time. In the press conference that was held 1 day before the showcase, Haha apologized for the scheduled Running Man event that was supposed to happened earlier this year.
Skull & Haha both shared their passion for Reggae music in the press conference as well and Haha talked a bit about his experience being a dad and mentioned that he won’t be planning to have a second child anytime soon. Apart from raising the fact that they are looking forward to taste Malaysian food in the press conference, they also stated that they can’t wait to interact closely with the fans.
That was what happened on the 21st of December 2013. From the morning meet & greet session at Paradigm Mall till the music showcase at KL LIVE in the night, fans were delighted to have the chance to have close interactions with the duo.
Their first music showcase in Malaysia was a blast itself which lasted for 2 hours. With the event kick starting at 7.30PM at night with introduction to special guest appearance by DJ IT, Skull and Haha finally came up on stage after 20 minutes.
The atmosphere was pretty high the whole time with fans paying full focus on the Korean Reggae duo. Their unique music style which differs from the rest of Kpop group was highly distinctive and it definitely stood out as an enjoyable show altogether.
Apart from performances by Skull and Haha, there was a session where 10 lucky fans were chosen to be up on stage to play a game with the duo as well. The climax point of the whole showcase happened when Haha started splashing water all over himself where the fans screamed and waved ecstatically.
A Christmas song performance was performed to mark the special night with the event ending on a high note. Skull and Haha later expressed their deepest appreciation to the fans who were present there at KL LIVE.
