Linkin Park totally rocked my night! I have to admit that I didn’t follow closely on their recent activities as well as listening to their latest tracks (Living Things) but the fact that they delivered a solid performances made my day and I enjoyed it very very much.
Linkin Park ‘Living Things’ World Tour LIVE in Malaysia 2013
Date: 19 August 2013
Venue: Bukit Jalil National Stadium
The last this American rock band made their way to perform in Kuala Lumpur was a decade ago in the year 2003 and though I was exposed to their music back then, I was just a poor secondary school kid who doesn’t have the luxury to actually attend a concert. Fast forward 10 years, I find myself amongst an estimate crowd of 20,000 people where 5,000 of them came from oversea countries to witness their favorite band in action. I was amazed.
The weather was gloomy all day long and it even rained heavily earlier in the day. However, it seems like the moody weather was still there with hints of raindrops passing by. The fact that it was a Monday itself had me finding myself in negative mode. Upon reaching Bukit Jalil National Stadium, the excitement I had within got me all looking forward to the night then.
Scheduled to start at 8PM, the band came on stage after 45 minutes pass the original time and instantly brought up the atmosphere. I don’t know about you but for me, after listening Linkin Park performing live for the first time, I must say that the chemistry the band members have amazed me. They were really good together. In some cases for other bands, the lead vocalist might steal the limelight when it comes to live performances in front of a big crowd. For me, they delivered a good show as a single unit. Though the sound system ain’t perfect, it was good enough for me to really enjoy what Linkin Park has to offer in a live performance show.
The band didn’t really waste much time interacting with the fans. Apart from thanking the Malaysian fans especially those who have supported them for more than a decade, all they did was showcasing their energetic head rockin’ tracks. It was more like a non-stop ride into the tunes of Linkin Park where they brought the roof down from one track to the other.
It would have been extra awesome if I had my secondary school friends with me along to scream, sing along and jump in the concert. THAT would be the only thing missing from the concert. Of course, I’m glad I attended this and Linkin Park was super entertaining.
Glad that I’m involved in their last show for 2013 where they’ll now focus on producing their 6th album. A heart-pumping concert experience, definitely one of the best concerts I’ve attended in 2013!
