Back in my diploma/degree days when I frequently have bus trips back & forth between my home & college, I always have this thought of wanting to enjoy video content on my mobile devices on the bus. Tons of hours were spent just sleeping on the bus and I felt that it was a waste of time.
Recently, Astro officially unveiled “Astro On The Go” services for mobile devices bringing everyone’s favorite Astro channels & programmes to mediums other than the traditional television itself.
This means that you can now enjoy the Astro’s entertainment channels at anytime, anywhere with your smartphones, tablets & laptops! This includes TV Channels, Video-On-Demand (VOD) & Catch Up TV from Astro.
TV Channels – Based on one’s Astro package subscription, a user can access up to 11 channels on Astro On-The-Go service.
Catch Up TV offers access for subscribers to shows that was aired previously & this cover drama series, reality shows, sports highlights, news, and education programmes.
With Video-On-Demand (VOD), a user can access the library of local and international titles from Astro First movies Sundance movies, and movies from around the region. Note : VOD library can only be access via broadband connected PVR-enabled decoders, upon download via decoder, customers can enjoy it on their mobile devices.
I’m a huge fan of HK/US TV series as well as sports programmes so the idea of Astro-On-The-Go really excites me where I think that this service would really help in providing entertainment wherever you go.
However, one of the most exciting offering in conjunction of the recent launch is the LIVE event offering through the 4 channels provided where subscribers can access to. EURO 2012 is one of the main sporting events this year and YES, all 31 matches can be watched LIVE then. Subscribers can also access UEFA VOD titles as well as UEFA Catch Up Videos.
Following the successful launch of Astro On-The-Go last week, the Astro On-The-Go App now available for free on iPhones! The timely launch of Astro On-The-Go on iPhones is in conjunction with EURO 2012 where all Astro customers will be able to catch all 31 LIVE matches of UEFA EURO 2012
