It’s quite amazing how thing works nowadays. I’m still quite amazed on how WongFu Productions got hooked up to collaborate with the team behind Taiwan superstar Wang Leehom 王力宏 where they worked on the music video of LeeHom’s latest single 依然愛你 Still In Love With You

If you ask me what i think about this collaboration, i would say it’s a smart move! WongFu Productions is BIG on YouTube, and they are really good at what they do, the problem is, not much music label/recording companies are willing to take that risk on such a hiring and be serious about it. Well. It happened!

On a fine Saturday, WongFu Productions got an email and was in shock since then, it went on from there.
After a few exchange of emails, they flew to Taiwan to shoot LeeHom’s music video.

The official music video of 依然愛你 Still In Love With You was uploaded on the 4th of Oct 2011 on officialwangleehom YouTube Channel.

5 days later, to be exact, 11 hours ago,  it was uploaded on WongFuProductions YouTube Channel.

6 days – 413k views compared to Half a day – 73k views(WongFu). Think about it. Then again, view the number of likes on both videos. =)

Smart collaboration. WHY? Figure it out yourself. =)

Well, WongFu has 985k subscribers where LeeHom has only 16k subscribers. With the big fan base of WongFuProductions on YouTube, there’ll definitely be loads of coverage in link with Lee Hom online.

It’s a WIN-WIN situation. In fact, it is quite a positive collision with good impact bringing out the best of both worlds. This marks a BIG step for YouTube superstars.

YouTube stars who love making videos posting them online becoming directors of the music video of ONE of the biggest star in Asia? THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN 5 YEARS AGO. =)
