This must be the best Chinese movie of the year!! Watched this movie like 2 nights ago with a few ex-college mates and enjoyed it.

With a cast that includes several big names where most of them are award winning actors, this was one of the movie i wanted to watch once it was out. Of course, being doubtful about movies produce by Hong Kong, i didn’t really kept my expectations high.

To my surprise, it turned out superbly good. Staying to its title, bodyguards and assassins, the movie was about the attempt of an assassination on one of the most important men in China’s history and it is an action packed movie with lots of interesting fighting scenes.

I like on how they had their set all built to reflect back the olden days of Hong Kong where its filled with the old buildings and such with the environment and atmosphere clearly shown in the movie itself.

I would say that all of the actors/actress were good and portrayed the given characters pretty well. Of course, most of them are award winning actors/actress so when you see a few of them in the same scenes, it would be interesting!

The storyline was quite straight and direct, not much confusion and the connection between different characters were kinda displayed since the start of the movie where you could really focus on other things.

The actresses/females in the movie, though having lesser scenes compared to other guys played quite an important role i think, in adding spices to the movie to make the movie a more interesting one.

Quite an awesome way to end 2009 i think. Avatar the best English movie and this the best Chinese movie. 2009 is indeed a good year!! =D
